New England at Miami (1 Viewer)

Fantastic win today!!!!!! 23 unanswered points in the second half....EXCLAMATION point. Moreno was awesome, Wallace and Tanny look 10X's better with each other this season.

My god...it goes to show how bad Mike Sherman was and how putrid our OL was last season. Wake was a beast. Great start. Now get a road win up in Buffalo who had an impressive road win themselves.

Patriots will bounce right back. We always give them a ton of trouble down here.

guess i shouldn't have started moreno
Guess not.

Seriously, it's a long game, just relax. Just hope this is mostly game observations. We can cry n cuss later.
I spoke too soon. But, without access to the game on TV, I was going off of the fantasy tracker and saw half a dozen runs from Miller to open the game including several in the RZ, and he punched it in for a TV.

Glad they got Moreno involved for me.

I had Ridley as well...what a bum.

Totally and nice of you to even re-post. let me share my observations of both backs.

Miller: They wanted to start the game with him and they wanted Miller to be the lead back. And he got 1st dibs on a short field off a blocked punt to start the game. Great that he helped Miami and cashed in on the TD but make no mistake, there was nothing special about it. He was good, he did a nice job, but it wasn't what we would see in the future from moreno during the game.

Obviously the fumble was bad but things happen. Give Miller credit for feeding off Moreno and getting back out there. He had a 2nd TD called back and that would have created a tug of war with all owners of these two. As it is, I think clearly Moreno was used during the crunch time, when Miami was down 20-10, they turned to Moreno in the 3rd Q and he got a lot of snaps. When Miller came back in to finish the drive, it ended up stalling and perhaps he is not solely to blame but the level or energy left when Moreno hit the sidelines. That was when Miami made it 20-13 before the ensuing sack/fumble on brady the following drive.

Moreno: Just a high level of energy. He showed everyone what it means to be a big time RB. He reminded me a lot of Bradshaw in 2010 IIRC where he had his best season and was knocking people over. Moreno needs to play within himself, I thought he might wear himself out. 24 carries, no way to sugarcoat the way Miami was feeding him the ball. And as the passing game was streaky, the steady diet of Moreno in the 2nd half made it easier to set Tannehill up for the longer pass plays like the Wallace TD.

I would be happy as a Moreno owner but Miller looked better at times than he ever looked last year. The OL was blocking well, Lazor's offense is something to watch, I thought the play calling was the best I have seen in a very very long time.

Miller 11/59+4/19/TD, not sure you can bank on a receiving TD all the time. On long drives where Moreno has doen a lot of the heavy lifting, Miller could steal a few TDs that way.

Moreno 24/134/TD, nothing in the passing game but I doubt owners are crying. 24 carries is a lot, would look for him to be reduced to under 20 in the next game. Miller should prove valuable in helping to split the laod here.

Thanks for the summary. It makes sense to start with Miller - he was supposed to be their guy last year and this year, and he's good enough to warrant touches. More of a panic observation by me, my team was not doing well but really heated up later on. Little concerning, since I had Ryan, AJ Green, and Moreno all blow up while Ridley was a total dud and Jefferey had an average day at best.

Do you have any thoughts on the Pats backfield as well? I'll need to check out the highlights and do some digging. I'm a T-Rich owner so I really thought Ridley could pick up the slack of TR was a bust.

I think Ridley remains the starter. I see a more balanced offense as long as they get some 2nd half rhythm Vereen is too versatile to carry the load, but he looked to be the goal line back today. If you haven't learned anything, stay away from the Pats backfield, unless you pick up Vereen for ppr. Ridley is just potential based on his low adp.

I snagged Murray at 1.11 and TR at 4.11. Ridley came at 7.11 and I got Moreno in round 9.

Didn't want TR, but Rice went 1 pick before me and I panicked. I couldn't pass up Ridley in the 7th using the logic he was the #1 RB, and at that point it's mostly timeshares and hunches.
