Early returns don't look so good on the PIT running game.
They didn't last time either. The Steelers ran the ball 20 times in the first half and then all of a sudden their YPC jumped up in the second half. The Steelers have eight rushes through the first eight minutes of this game, which is exactly what they want to do.

The bus got a flat, his stomach should have crossed the 1st down marker...
Without a good sized hole, the Bus makes quite a few "stops", he aint creatin' nothing on his own.

Frankly, if you're going to get stuffed you might as well cough it up there... might get lucky. It was going to be NE ball anyway.
That probably went through his mind while he was going down :bag:

That was pretty sweet, and I'm psyched to be up 10-0, but the Steelers are definitively owning the time of possession here, and pounding the ball at the Pats again and again on a very cold day. If it opens up the run play next drive, cool. And if they stop the Steelers or hold them to three here, that's a nice swing. But if the Steelers answer with a TD they're not only right back in it, they're pretty happy with the results.

Q: How do you sotp the Steeler running game?A: Take a lead, and force them to pass to catch up.
And since the Pats held the NFL's single season TD pass record holder to 0 last week, It figures to be a long day for Pittsburgh.

You know, Bryant likes to keep talking about how 'smart' the Shark Pool is, especially compared to the FFA, but I've just seen about 15 people call a game over that is less than eight minutes in.Maybe our definitions are different.

It's gonna take more than 2 yard runs up the middle to beat New England. This one's over.   :P :D
Whoah, now. I hope you're right, but it's still the 1st quarter. Let's not get those tongues too far up each others' asses just yet.

Hi Capella. Read. The FFA doesn't think before they type. Never said anything about their smarts... ;)J

I have not called this game over. I'm thrilled with the early returns however.

Look at how much the Pats are trying to stretch out the Steelers D. The Steelers have five on the line, the Pats throw deep. They do it again, the Pats throw the TE screen wide left. The Steelers' pass D is living up to their ranking though. Nice coverage, and nice hitting in the secondary.
