New FF idea - the Mulligan - love it or hate it (1 Viewer)

Here's my idea. The fantasy mulligan. It would only be allowed once per season per team.

This would allow you to substitute one player's performance for another yet to play on Sunday or Monday night.

So the strategy part comes in on trying to decide when to use it. For instance, say you started Pierce and got burned with his like 3 points and you are down say 4 - but you could have played Jennings on Monday. So do you use your mulligan and hope Jennings gets the 7 points you are down or do you wait for another week cuz you don't feel good about Jennings?

You can only use it once - and to make it easy it would have to be only in a late game (Sunday or Monday night).

Love it or hate it

I wish I could play in a league where the entire roster is useable each week (your entire roster is eligible for start, it automatically picks your best lineup after the week). You don't need to pick starters. Heck I build such a great team every year it's impossible to pick best lineup every week

Sucks having a stacked roster because every week you you have great players not active.

Huh? That does actually exist.

One that you actually are active in, like makign transactions, trades, etc? Not just a draft and go away league?

Best ball leagues.

I'm up for interesting ideas but part of the core strategy is lineup decisions.

How about if you had lineups set per half. For example, in first half you start Tony Romo and gets hurt in 1st quarter. Instead of getting stuck with 0 production for the rest of the game, you would get the 0 for the rest of the first half and can bench Romo for your backup QB's 2nd half stats. In order to do this, you would likely need to set paramaters that you can only bench a starter if you have a bench player playing same time.

It could be either for injuries only or it can be open to all players. So game flow would be critical in your "2nd Half" lineup decisions.

Thats a little out there I know but was thinking about ways to avoid some of the bad luck that comes in a weekly head to head game.

i like it, though you'd probably have to limit it to Monday night game only (unless performance you are dumping was on a Thursday/Saturday). Need a clear time-gap to declare decision to mulligan.
