So I have tried insane twice now, got smoked in both. Near the end of the second attempt someone attacked cuba and I said to myself "how did I get troups over in cuba"?Thats when I realized that you start with 8 troups in cuba.
That's actually the trick in Insane. Now that you've noticed them, it should be fairly straightforward.

It looks like there are enough FBG players in that tournament to get us all on one team. I just took over team N which was one of the last teams with nobody on it. Feel free to join unless you're guderian.

Send me an invite and I'll join up. I'm gboklage over there.

Well I still can't get Insane to go well, but I just beat "Crazy" in 29 moves and two of them were wasted moves. Should of had it in 27.

Like Tick said, stop messing with Insane and start doing some multiplayer action. Very fun stuff. For Pinkbladder fans, I wasted him on the (very interesting) Chicago map and made him weep. My current annoying nemesis: slejer. Real doosh.

Except beating the Insane challenge puts you in an elite group. Gas and I got invited to a tournament with the best players on Warlight because of it. And it is fun when you finally beat it.

 I will live without the l33thood and the resulting tourney invites. But yes, I'm sure it is fun and I've gone out of my way to give you and Gas megacredit.

Beating Insane is now personal.

I'm now trying to plug up North South America and North South Africa and take them on going north. Had OK sucess, but I can't seem to pull it off yet.

Pink's full of himself, but he really is quite good at the game.

I sent Tecumseh a very detailed plan of attack in a pm, if he still has it maybe he can forward it to you. Other than that, Gas's directions in spoilers are probably just as good.As to South America North, I usually don't plug it, I use that plug in Anadyr N. If I go to South America at all it's to attack out of it into Canada S. Usually doesn't work though. You can ignore South America until you see them there, there are a lot of little spaces in it they'll waste time on. I usually put a forward defense in Brazil and just let them bang their heads on it.

Now testing the new user-created Africa map, which looks excellent so far. The creator, sue, is a nice (and tough) player who also created an outstanding Canada map that I've played once (and would like to play again).

I've been having some fun with the raving gangs of Polish kids lately in late-night games. I finally got used to the chat button blinking constantly and decided to play more two-person team games rather than FFAs unless I know the players. I played the Warsaw map for the first time the other night in a 3 v 3 and it was absolutely outstanding; great time. The Vistula River splits the map and can only be crossed by several bridges, which are themselves territories. I'd love to see a Paris map based on the same concept.

Anyone ever read the forum? I haven't in a while, but my concern these days is that the site creator will stop maintaining it. I've seen absolutely no indication of that or heard anyone say anything about it, but damn . . . that would really suck. I wonder if he has some plan to monetize the website in some way so at least defray his costs (if any).

Randy (Site creator) is fairly active in the forums. Only thing I've ever heard him say about the future of the site is improvements he's working on. Seems like he should at least put up a paypal button or something, I'd throw him some cash just for the game and to keep the servers going.

Am I the only one that enjoys the single-player practice game? I usually go with a vanilla Medium-sized world map, normal rules with 5 computer players. I don't know if the AI has been improved, but I think I'm losing more games recently.

I know some players use them to test new maps out. Outside of the challenges I prefer human opponents, though. There's a difference, the AI is somewhat predictable. And it can't do things like multi-attack, and it won't use cards, other than reinforcements.

Thanks. Good call on PayPal. I would donate too. I'll check the forums; I've also wanted to suggest (or add support to, if as seems likely someone has already suggested) the idea of a PM feature.

Random game I joined, could use a couple competent team mates: http://warlight.net/App.aspx?GameID=1069313
Hey, the guy on another team named Goggy in there is someone I know from other games and have met IRL. Please say hi to him for me - he knows me best as Tick. Let him know that "FBG guys are like AFK guys."I would have joined your team if I had gotten there in time.

Just joined this East Asia tourney and saw a number of FBGs with invites who haven't responded -- I'm on team (ahem) "AA" and would love to have some of you guys join me if anyone's interested. Dragons/Tick/Tecumseh are already in the tourney making up a pretty formidable team.

I need Dragons and Tick to teach me the Asia map. I always get my brains beat in on that one.

I'm in much the same boat; finally feel like I have some sort of handle on the Europe map and a lot of the less popular maps (British Isles, NZ, Chicago, even Big US to some halfass extent), but East Asia . . . yeah.

BF/Fatguy/Sparty just laid waste to a VERY strong team in the middle east tournament. Pinkbladder, Leech_Sucka, and rookie are all good players, and the FBG guys just walked over them (much like they walked over the Tick/Gaspumper/Sidewinder team in the first round).

Nice work, guys.

Go, go, go. I don't mind (much) losing to FBG teams, if we can at least win the tournament in the end.F pinkbladder.

There's no real secret (that I've found) with the Asia map. If it's not too crowded, it's size is more geared toward my strengths (growth) than what's needed in other smaller maps (head to head combat).Side and I just (and Humuna, until he got booted after notifying everyone he was going on vacation) just beat 2 teams of 3 in the Poland tournament. Side fought a great head to head battle, messing with 2-3 opponents enough while I found room to grow and become unstoppable. http://warlight.net/App.aspx?GameID=1068687

Speaking of which, Side, get your ### over there before they boot you.

Is this the same tourney where Jojo, Stackhouse and I have been frozen for about two weeks because some group of three waited ten days to boot one of their opponents? If so, I believe we're still waiting on the outcome of that contest, although the Courtesy Kings finally did boot the vanishee.

:confused:I really like the ME map for 3 vs 3. If you're good you can piece together where everyone is and what they're doing pretty quickly and find the perfect strategy. As Dragons mentioned, the East Asia map is more about growth. It seems harder to get that overall gameplan, you just kinda gotta grow and when you meet the enemy, hope you grew faster.

We're inching our way through the loser's bracket on this one... it would be cool to meet you guys again.
