I'll post any additional news items and the inactives here as we get them.

Out and Likely Out Today

Lofa Tatupu didn't practice this week and pulled himself from last week's game.

Gary Brackett and Kelvin Hayden didn't travel with the team this week and are out.

Justin Tuck didn't practice this week and is expected to be down this week and possibly next.

Cliff Avril and Ernie Sims are expected to be out this week, with Sims likely to be out over a month.

Game-time Decisions

Alex Brown is questionable with an ankle injury, limited practice Friday.

Ed Reed is questionable with a neck injury, added to the injury report Friday.

EJ Henderson is questionable with a shoulder injury, limited all week.

Expected to Play

Clint Session practiced fully Thur and Fri.

Stephen Cooper (ankle) and Kevin Burnett (knee) were both added to the injury report late week.

Notes

Kenny Phillips is on IR. CC Brown will replace him.

Mathias Kiwanuka gets the bulk of the snaps with Tuck down.

DeAndre Levy is now expected to start for Ernie Sims. I think Jordon Dizon is likely to team with Foote in the nickel.

Freddie Keiaho should start in the middle for Gary Brackett and probably plays ahead of Hagler in the nickel.

Jasper Brinkley would play for EJ Henderson. He won't play in the nickel but could be fun to watch.

Derrick Johnson is questionable with a groin injury, but anything could happen in the KC lineup right now.

(ETA: Johnson apparently didn't travel with the team according to Josh Looney. He's out. Demorrio Williams every-down.)

David Hawthorne played for Tatupu last week and eventually bumped Herring from the nickel. Another potential last minute find.

John Busing may officially bump Dom Barber from the lineup today.

Marquand Manuel is dinged and on the hot seat in Detroit.

Josh Looney (chiefs.com) has a note in his blog from last evening that Derrick Johnson didn't travel with the team to PHI. Demorrio Williams a better play this week than expected.

Justin Tuck is dressed for the game, but it'd be a shock to see him get more than a handful of snaps. Probably used in an emergency only.

Cliff Avril and Ernie Sims inactive as expected.

Bernard Pollard inactive this week, but worth following in coming weeks.

Detroit News calling Sims' shoulder injury an AC separation this morning. Not sure I'm buying that after the way he fell screaming last week. It would have to be a very severe separation to keep him out longer than a month. We'll see how this one develops.

Officially DeAndre Levy in the starting lineup for Detroit. Marquand Manuel at SS.

Any word on Terrence McGee?
Minimal information.Limited all week. McKelvin was moving better, for whatever that's worth. Expected to suit up, but should be considered game-time decision if you've got other options and can't get him out of the lineup late.

Brandon McGowan taking first team warmup reps over James Sanders. McGowan was effective last week, always a solid tackler in the past and could be an interesting last minute plug in given what could be sloppy conditions in NE.

For what it's worth, there are three "grades" of AC separations. A grade 3 would require surgery and Sims would be out for the season. A grade 2 would not require surgery and probably keep him out for a month or so.

Agreed.Could well just be another of the smokescreen-limited information release deals with injuries in today's NFL. The more severe "separations" have significant soft tissue damage and are often associated with clavicular fractures. Just smells a little fishy to casually call it an AC separation. :2cents:

Michael Wright reporting today that the Jags are now a 3-4 defense. DL injuries playing a role, but Del Rio is reportedly happy with how the 3-4 has held up against the run. Not entirely unexpected after what we've seen over the past month, but it's not good news for Derrick Harvey, who's yet to look comfortable in a two point stance.

Any word on SS James Butler, St. Louis Rams?

He was not listed as inactive but his stat line is all goose eggs, hard to believe he wouldn't at least register an assist.

Thanks

Some kind of injury early (knee, I believe) and the early post-game speculation wasn't promising.
