Love what MOP does with the running backs, and others have joined in with great threads on detailed WR matchups. I think we need one for defenses. Late in the year choosing the right defense becomes critical with most scoring systems. And I do think there is a method to the madness. Teams are predictably flat in trap games or can be fired up when they have something to play for (TB at home last week). Also, stats like TB being horrible traveling to the West Coast the last 6 games should have an impact on rankings. I haven't received an answer from any staff members, so I'll assume that rankings are based on pure computer modeling with limited or no regard to meaningful intangibles. Maybe defenses are an afterthought to this site, but in my league it's not uncommon to see them score as high as top QB's or RB's some weeks.
I'd love to see this site step up with better D rankings, including explanations such as Wimer's Passing/Rushing matchups. If not, then hopefully the FBG brethren can step up.
