So, anyone still think the Bears didn't try to win week 17?
Maybe they should have.
Or even better. Why didn't they show us what they learned in the offensive experiment that was week 17? They changed their entire offensive philosophy for that game. The only reason I could even begin to understand why they did so was to try different protections and route combinations for future reference. Looks like that plan failed big time.

Capers is a serious moron.
That moron probably makes a crap load of money more than you and is headed to the Super Bowl.
Lots of morons make a lot of money. They are still morons however. Capers fits the bill.
whoa there tough guy. capers is who instilled and executed this defense. a damn good defense
Excellent D until he almost cost them the game by going prevent....against a 3rd stringer. 2 DL-men...how stupid. Everyone knows the prevent D prevents wins. If they would have lost that game, it would have been totally on him.

Congrats to the PACKER FAN BASE AND THE ORGANIZATION. Great playoff run and you guys did it all on the road. The Bears? Well- I just do not know what to say at all. Seems like the offensive game plan was just not enough against a better defense but they had their chance on that last possession. This team really is playing second fiddle to the Packers and I will say it- Lovie Smith is now 0-2 in the biggest games since we last won a Super Bowl. This is a disgrace. The Packers are making us look silly. Have fun in Dallas...

Jay Cutler is a B****. Rivers played a playoff game on a torn ACL. Cutler better have a worst knee injury ever, or that guy is dead to me. Can't believe I have stuck up for that guy for this long. I am done. The guy is a piece of crap.

And I would be surprised if we aren't looking up to the Packers for the next few years at worst. I wasn't sure how I would feel, but I wish the Pack and their fans the best in Dallas.

Wait, so winning the NFC title game four years ago wasn't a big game, but losing the NFC title game today was? Got it.

This Bears team is just the Chicago Cubs on the grid iron. They do just enough to suck you in and then they choke and then they are lame for a few years before they bow out. In the meantime, the Steelers, Packers one of the NY teams, NE they are always in the hunt. For a charter NFL team going on 25 years with no SB championship- that is just disgusting. We saw the Brett era just embarass us and now we have to deal with Rodgers and he is just starting. We are stuck with Cutler and his up and down games. He is all pro one game and amateur hour the next and now we are going to have to hear about how he has no receivers or how he had no heart to play on whatever his knee injury is. This is like Miami super bowl all over again with Benson. Top players going out with phantom injuries. I am on my last thread with this paper tiger organization and this socialist city. They seem to go hand in hand!

Give me a break. The only thing missing here is NO CHAMPIONSHIP. 25 years and counting. Recall- Lovie Smith's NUMBER ONE GOAL WAS TO BEAT THE PACKERS. Now a loss at home to the Packers in the NFC Championship where the Bears brass presents the George Hallas NFC Championship trophy to the Packers in big bad ### Chicago. I guess the Seahawk win was a great all time feather in the cap win for Lovie and the Bears. You can reach for excuses this is a league where you win it all.

Good luck, Pack. Way to go beating a 3rd stringer in the NFC championship game. Feather in you cheese cap.
Your fishing expeditions never fail to entertain! LOLing all the way to Dallas baby!

You can walk tall Bears fans - showing a lot of class in this thread. At the beginning of the season most of the talk was Vikings or Packers for the division - the Bears surprised a lot of people and played my beloved Packers tough in all 3 games. You have a fantastic Defense & special teams. With a little help in the o-line and WR positions you could have one heck of a formidable team. Class organization and class fans who love their team. :lmao:

I was about to jump all over them after the first half, but they showed heart during the 2nd half and didn't give up even a little bit. It looked like a lost cause at the half, but it didn't deter that defense at all. Much respect. It's too bad that Cutler didn't see it like everyone else did. You the man, Hanie.

Despite some ugly offense out there, this was a fun game to watch. Major thumbs up to the Bears 3rd string QB, that dude played his ### off, despite being put in a terrible spot. Very impressive to step in that way in an NFC Championship game. Urlacher and Briggs both played like beasts today (especially Urlacher).

Also, big props to Chicago Bears fans. Everyone I ran into at the game today was classy, and while they gave this Packer fan light hearted grief, it was all in good fun. A surprisingly classy crowd. :lmao:

Major thumbs down to the 4 d-bags riding the Red Line tonight after the game, threatening to "beat the ###" of any Packer fans they saw. These guys literally were chasing people off the train. Fortunately, most Chicago fans aren't like that.....but it was nice to see the South Side out in full force representing after the game.

Anyway, good luck next year Bear fans. This game scared the hell out of me all week.

Great win in the typical fashion with Bears/Packers...tough down to the end with 2 defense slugging the offenses in the mouth and taking their best shots.

Bears D was stout after it looked as if Green Bay would move the ball at will on them.

People can complain about Capers going soft...but it was not the first time they have dropped into a coverage mode at the end of games and it has worked well for them for the most part. It was frustrating as a fan...but the premise is sound (at least against a QB like Hanie). The blitz wasn't getting there, so drop 8 into coverage and make him force a throw into coverage or make their Wrs really work to try and get open. Give up the passes underneath to Forte, but tackle and keep everything in front of you making them use clock.

And Im not about to start questioning a guy who has been leading that defense to where they are (which was 2nd in points allowed on the year and gave up all of 14 again tonight).

The guy is a P****.

Good for you Rudi. Do what you have to do.

I'm sorry if this goes against you looking 'cool' in front of the other fellas but this isn't being excellent. Color within the lines next time, friend.

Huh? Looking cool? I am trying to look cool by calling Jay Cutler what he is? Ok.

Have a good night Rudi.
