NFC Championship GB@Seattle (2 Viewers)

The conditions don't favor the Packers at all. A wet slippery field and 20 mph winds. Sadly, the Seahawks and their lack of humility move on
Not sure why you think this. Lacy should thrive in this.
Because people forget down the stretch the Packers have had one of the best running games in the NFL. Now the biggest thing is we can't have a repeat of Buffalo where the receivers dropped literally 800% more passes than normal (average is 1 per game they dropped 8 in that game with a easy Jordy Nelson TD dropped as well).

The line isn't moving another 2 points in the last 5 hours before game time. It nosed up to 8 because of the weather forecast being clearer (clearer as in we know for sure the conditions will be bad). That's most likely where it will stay. It's not going to 10.

Its at 9 1/2 right now

EDIT : WHOOPS! lol somehow my view got switched up and I was just seeing the line if I wanted to bid in at 9 1/2

The wind and rain just hit hard up here north of Seattle about 100 miles...at least for the moment. 25 to 35 mph winds with 50 mph gusts are forecasted in Seattle to stop right at kickoff...with rain after that.
Yepper. We're getting hit hard up here in Whatcom County. Wind kept me up last night.
I'm about 7 miles North of the stadium and the wind has been whipping all night long--it woke me up a couple of times as well. It's one of the windier moments I can remember in Seattle and I've lived here for a long time.
Neither of these QBs is going to be much impacted by the winds. They both put a lot of velocity on the ball. I don't see many deep bombs though.
RW likes to loft a few, usually to Kearse. I could see a gust of wind making for an easy INT for GB.

Really, where? I see 8 at all the Vegas casinos and you can still get 7.5 at the Mirage as of 11:05 EST today.

If I were betting the game which I'm not I wouldn't be using illegal off shore sites but suit yourself.

If anything I would think slippery conditions might help slowing down the pass rush.
Seahawks win 4x as many home games when the weather is poor...

http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2015/01/will-weather-help-seahawks.html?m=1
Where are the stats to back up 4x homes games won because of the weather being poor? Last time I looked the Seahawks rarely lose to begin with so not sure how you get the 4x as many home games? Are we going back to 1990 or something to get that?

Like your high school math teacher would say, "show your math"

(*Note: For those Seahawks fans who can't follow my argument and think I am disrespecting them - I am actually trying to figure out how a team that basically never loses at home can be 4x more likely to win a home game because of bad weather)

------

Think I found it in another link in that article:

17-4 w/ precipitation vs 42-25 w/o

.810 vs .630

So ya not 4x more likely to win? Equate that 17-4 record out over 67 games (same as good weather) its 54-13 over that time vs the 42-25 record they have in good weather, which is more like a 2x likelihood if you don't take into account the strength of schedule on both sides of the column.

They don't get To play Lindley or Kaepernick today though.
Just like Aaron Rodgers isn't going up against the Bears or Bucs defense today.
Take what the Packers did against the Cowboys, Patriots, or Lions.

The Patriots are the #13 defense, the Cowboys are the #19. The Lions are the #2 defense and you lost to them on the road.

Ok, I'll take that.

ETA: By DVOA those are #11, #22, and #3 respectively just to get an advanced metric in there.

No idea why people fixate on stats like this. Don't remember who said it earlier this postseason, but you have to know that most of those games were played by different players and coaches. Those guys aren't coming out of retirement.

Can't wait for the game, if the Packers win its a big success and everyone will celebrate it but if they lose its something that was supposed to happen when playing at Seattle. On the flip side there is no upside for the Seahawks if they win it was expected and its all about repeating whereas if the lose it will be a HUGE loss for the franchise.

If we are going there remind me who they beat again worth anything on offense? Week 3 is the last time?..... So ya.....

Exactly... Again I didn't bring up the stat it was posted by someone else in the article that the Seahawks are 4x more likely to win with bad weather. I pulled it out to point to the fact that it really doesn't matter.

Best thing I've learned from reading HHDL: All misery comes from expectations. Learn to live in the moment for a much happier life.

And the last time you won against a physical defense? So, ya.

I don't think this game will be remotely close. If it were played at Lambeau, I think it could be a classic. But in that environment, with Rodgers hurt (and Lacy not 100%), it's going to be a bloodbath. The seahawks are a lock to demolish the Packers, and I really don't see any way Green Bay can even keep it close. I think the Packers lose by several touchdowns.
Agreed.

Lock.

Stone cold lead pipe lock that Seattle wins today.

Detroit anyone? Week 17

That's Vince Lombardi blowing into town.

That means a lot of bad news for Seattle today.

It's finally here. I haven't looked forward to a game this much since Super Bowl XLV. Good luck to all the Seahawks, those of you going to the game, be safe.

The two best teams in the world are playing today. Looking forward to enjoying it with my family.
Agreed. Can't wait, should be a great game. The wind, weather just adding to a crazy atmosphere.

I'm flying into Seattle this morning, plane is about to take off and it's filled with Packers and Hawks jerseys. Everyone is in a great mood.
Even Packer fans???

That's odd, they must not be reading this thread or listening to the sports media.

Hey Packer fans. I get that you're all about trying to take the "disrespect" angle, the "no way they can win" angle, and the "who has Seattle beat" angle. I really understand it. I remember last year when everyone said it was a lock for the Broncos to win it all. It sucks.

If you do manage to pull it out, congrats. I'll come back by for some crow later tonight (I'm going to the game so I'll be offline shortly). I'm hoping for a great game and it was fun with the banter this week. Cheers.

Maybe once, or twice. I get that for a quick laugh. But over and over and over again? Do yourself a favor and go listen to a CD of your daughter. You'll smile and feel better. GL today.

A Packer fan behind me on my flight has 50 yard seats 18 rows back. Super nice guy, just handed me a coin with a peace symbol on it that he made. He's handing them out to all Seattle fans. Trying to buy good karma! May have to leave it on the plane...
Did you tell him he's wasting his time by going today?

That Seattle is a LOCK today?

You have a some type of inferiority complex going on. Seattle is the favorite to win but upsets happen all the time. Should be a great game.

Not sure why you think this. Lacy should thrive in this.
And QB's always say rainy conditions favor the passing game because the WR's know where they are going, but the DB's don't. Also, the DLine has a tough time getting a push in these conditions.

That makes more sense on grass than turf, I believe, where it is easier to slip or just lose footing. It's weird that this (not your assertion, just the general knowledge--I'm not positive either) isn't more establish knowledge around here.

It's not you we're really concerned about as you're not the one shooting your mouth off. You and most of the Hawks fans are respectable here.

I think we're all waiting for HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED to show up if the Hawks lose.

Weather update! Just flew over the stadium which was pretty cool, no rain, sun breaks actually. Pretty thick clouds all around. Was crazy bumpy and is pretty windy at airport which is about 20 miles south. Don't think weather should be too much of an issue unless the wind really gets crazy.

This reminds me of a quote from Bad Santa: "#### in one hand and wish in the other; see which one fills up first."

Correct. No rain right now but still getting a few gusts. Honestly, I hope it calms down and we get good weather.

All right everyone: enjoy the game! I'm off to the stadium to drink a few beers and get prepared to yell.
