Mike Periera saying that personal foul was not a dead ball foul, not loss of down. Terrible call.
It's literally not even possible for it not to be a dead ball foul. If it wasn't a dead ball foul, then there was zero reason to even call it a penalty. But it clearly happened after the sack and was clearly a dead ball foul.

Mike Pereira sticking up the for refs when they clearly blew it once again. And he is getting shredded for it on Twitter.
But who is to say the fault is the ref's? It may have been the fault of the Packers coaches. They may not have understood the explanation from the refs and declined the penalty. The refs may be asking themselves "What the hell were they thinking?"
This could be possible too. Won't know till after the game.
Good point... could've been a coaching mishap. Doubt it though as the refs didn't explain "after the play" like they normally do. Not sure why they didn't... I agree I'm not entirely sure how you can have a "late hit" without it being a dead ball foul. If the ball isn't dead, then it shouldn't be a late hit.
wasn't it called unnecessary roughness during the play?

Yeah, but how is that roughness during the play? It's not like it was hard hit or anything, he just fell ontop of the guy as he went to the ground. That call shouldn't be allowed "during" the play. It should either be after the play or not at all.

The reason a flag was thrown is because the hit came after the play. If the play was still happening the block wouldn't have been illegal. Therefore if the block merited a flag it was by definition a dead ball flag and should have been added on

Looks like getting rid of Harvin and Tate III worked wonders for the Seahawks. Even the Jets have better skill position players on offense. :X

I have to admit I don't know the rule all that well. But I always thought all personal fouls were dead ball fouls and tack on penalties. There should never be a cheap shot penalty in a game that doesn't result in any "penalty".
