**NFC Divisional Round - Rams at Eagles** (-6, 42.5) 3:00 on NBC (2 Viewers)

Think this will be closer than people think. The Rams are a legit good football team.
Played the Lions tough in the opener and they did beat the Bills.
They are also healthy.

Somebody said Philly is a bad matchup for the Rams. I think the Rams offense is a tough matchup for the Eagles as well.

How is the Rams offense a tough matchup for the Eagles?

If there's an upset this week I think it's this game
The numbers and analytics say The Eagles will win
But there's a feeling in me that thinks The Rams can win this game
Or it's the chili I ate all weekend
Either way I think The Rams keep it close and if they get a fortunate bounce they can win it
That would send Matthew to Detroit in The NFC Championship Game
Great theater
So why not...

Los Angeles Rams- 23
Philadelphia Eagles- 20

After watching the performances of the other NFC North teams in this years playoffs, I think if there is going to be an upset this week it could be Detroit. Jayden Daniels is no joke.

Still dumbfounded why you continue to say this. The Packers were beat up, lost both Doubs and Reed and still hung with your Eagles on the road.
Darnold is the reason the Vikings lost. Detroit got in his head and he was still seeing ghosts from last week.

The Rams are better than you give them credit for. IF the Eagles play like they did last week, they aren't beating Detroit and they probably won't be the Rams.

Edit: Absolutely Daniels is the real deal. He better get a touchdown on each drive because Detroit will.
The Packers were not beat up. We beat them up. There is a difference.

The way the Eagles played last week was forcing 4 turnovers and allowing 10 points total scored. If the Eagles win, the defense will be a huge determining factor, not so much the offense. It will still go, just how high a level is the question.

Detroit has like how many injured guys on defense? There is a bit of an element of surprise to the Commanders/Jayden Daniels.

Don't see anything here super crazy here.
Love injured going into game.
Watson out
Doubs out early
Reed out midgame

They were beat up and still kept it close. You can spin it however you want.

Oh I think so too........was just pointing it out that you already penciled em in.

I just posted my prediction in that thread. I think the rested Lions roar, and roll the commies. Daniels will come back down to earth

Chris Shula has not gotten the flowers he deserves for his work with the Rams’ D. He got some Monday Night, but he is an excellent, savvy coordinator.

The Rams’ Dline has been outstanding from about the middle of the season onward and the 2 rookies are playing at an extremely high level.

If Philly’s Offense looks as flat as it did Sunday, this Rams team can do some major damage. And Stafford is a very, very good QB with vet smarts and a cannon for an arm. Kupp, Nacua and Robinson are all extremely talented and Williams has been an explosive, dependable weapon at RB. Higbee is a HUGE weapon for them- he had 5 catches before his injury and he could/should play.

If the Rams get their Offense clicking with Nakobe Dean out and Baun having to wear the green dot, Their Dline will feast if they put Jalen in must-pass situations.

But, I don’t see it happening. I think the Oline is too big for the Rams and will wear them out running the ball and leaning on them heavy thru the 1st half. STL secondary is also very exploitable. AJ owned Witherspoon last meeting, and he is dinged up coming into this game.

Add in the Rams having to go on the road to ARZ for a “home game”, not knowing if rhey can even practice at home, and making the trip to Philly on a short week- Philly should dominate.

See this is it for me. You can't scheme for size and physicality that the Eagles bring in the trenches. You either have it or you don't.

Keeping it close? Is that like some moral victory. Once the Eagles got up 10 at the end of the 1st, GB never had the ball with a chance to take the lead. The Eagles didn't force anything, they didn't take any risks, they didn't need to.

Who called the NFC North frauds?
From Snotbubbles in the Vikings - Ram game thread:

what we saw this weekend in 5 of 6 games is the result of parity and parity scheduling. Average teams with inflated records facing legit contenders and getting clowned.

The NFC North looks like it may be a fraud division.

OK. But why did you quote me? No one in that conversation mentioned the NFC north?

I mean, I think it’s fair to say the Vikings were a little bit of a fraud, don’t you think? I also don’t think the Packers are that great of a team yet, however, they will be in a year or two. But obviously the Lions are legit Super Bowl contenders. As an eagle fan, they scare me more than anyone else remaining in the playoffs.

Operative words, "may be." If the Detroit Lions lose to the Commanders this weekend, I'll edit my post from "may be" to "is."

Which teams in the NFC do you believe are NOT frauds?

There are 5 legit contenders in this years playoffs. KC, BUF, BAL, DET, PHI. One of those 5 teams is winning the Super Bowl.

Eagles, obviously Detroit, since I’m afraid of them, Washington, I think is going to be a monster for years to come, I do think the Packers are very good and very young. They’ll be knocking on the door for many years. I thought Tampa Bay was pretty strong this year as well. If you’re going to take issue with me saying the Vikings are a team, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Hurts is an ugly game manager, he's really one of the most ugliest QB's as far as his play in the NFL on a playoff team. There is nothing elite when it comes to Jalen Hurts. But good and ugly Jalen Hurts is a lot better than bad and ugly Jalen Hurts when it comes to how PHI plays football. It's tough, physical, punishing football. They eventually wear the opponent out. Yet against the Rams, turnovers, penalties, and Sirianni being Sirianni, that's going to be the difference. It's going to have be a a huge Saquon second half to pull it past two scores plus to ice this game. But Hurts is still and ugly QB.

I always thought Hurts was a very pretty QB and surely a very pretty " game manager." Hmmm, gonna have to rethink this, me thinks.

I also just realized that Sirianni is much prettier than McVay, so there's that too.

I think the pretty QB with the pretty HC win this game.

The Eagles don't turn the ball over. They've turned it over 5 times on offense since week 4.

Not sure penalties will hurt Philly as much a LA. Philly had 54 offensive penalties for 370 yards (avg 6,85 ypp). 34 defensive penalties for 338 yards (9.9 ypp). 22 special teams penalties for 149 yards.

Rams had 51 offensive penalties for 404 yards (7.92 ypp). 37 defensive penalties for 364 yards (9.84 ypp). 13 special teams penalties for 125 yards.

Looking at that I'd say Philly's offensive penalties were more of the 5 yard variety (false start/ineligible downfield) and LA's were more of the 10 yard variety (holding). Defensively, they're about the same.

Re: Hurts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't care what it looks like, there are a bunch of "pretty" QBs who are watching the games this weekend.

Since the bye, when Hurts plays the whole game, the Eagles are undefeated. so...

Hurts not being an elite runner for a QB is a pretty bold statement too.

But Purdy looked good losing.

To be fair, Purdy had almost nothing to do with the 49ers losing. He was the guy keeping them competitive. Both Hurts and Purdy are pro bowl level QBs. Probably 2 of the 4 best QBs in the NFC.

Looks like there’s a high probability of moderate to at times heavy snow during the game Sunday afternoon in Philly

Seeing up to 6 inches of snow projected now.
SNOW BOWL SNOW BOWL SNOW BOWL

btw did you ever hear that story about snowballs and Santa?

No, but I was at that PHI/DET snow game.
Legendary game to attend!

I feel lucky to have attended the Saquon 2-5-5 game this year, hoping for a mix of that and the Shady game this weekend!

An excellent pass rushing team against a team that’s supposed to have a great line. Should be an interesting match-up up front when the Eagles have the ball.

The link will be rocking. Snow, mud, smashing OL. The Rams in an interesting predicament going across the country to a hoard of fanatics and a tough assignment to stop Barkley and Hurts. Hard to see this happening. LA has weapons and is well coached but it will take some breaks for the Rams to keep pace. Eagles need to play their game and steer clear of mistakes. Don’t play around - pound the rock, move the chains, play stellar defense and move forward.

Eagles 27
LA 17

barkley went for 255 in a dome at their place last time. in the snow at home could be an epic shady like game. rams dline cant stop the run

Hard to get a pass run when the other team runs the ball. So what LA does best is neutralized by what Philly does best on offense. Philly's offense is a terrible matchup for LA's defense.

Don't get me started, I was supposed to go to the Rams game this year. Plans fell through.

I think its arguable if the Rams even have a great pass rush in the first place. They were 20th in pressures and 21st in sacks this season. I don't wanna give them too much credit for Darnold being a deer in the headlights last week.

They’re all different , my AccuWeather app says occasional afternoon snow up to an inch, 34 degrees
Figures a Cowboy fan would have misinformation. As a trained spotter for the National Weather Service, their website is the only one I look at. They are the authority.

Also, the Eagles don't supposedly have a great line. They do have a great line.
