NFL 2014: Coaches on the Hot Seat (1 Viewer)

Just lost to the worst team in the NFL. Can I get an update on Harbug's greatness? Great coaches, in the playoff hunt, don't lose to the worst team in the league.
Philbin did twice last year while scoring just 7 points....I'll take Harbaugh in Miami thank you.
No one is calling Philbin great.
If Harbuagh isnt a good coach, please list your head coaches you would take over him, I think there are about 3 or 4

He only made 3 conference championship games in a row. Ugatz. Let me know when he gets to 5.

Titans CEO Tommy Smith said (last week) the coaches were safe, but the 2014 Titans are terrible and getting worse every week. Fans are either fed up or giving up on this team. Seriously. It's a small market so it won't make ESPN, and that probably helps Whisenhunt, but fans are outraged and calling for Whisenhunt's head. The Titans game TV ratings are the lowest in 15 years.

Whisenhunt should be on the hot seat.

At least there's this:

Rotoworld:

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports Dolphins HC Joe Philbin's days are "numbered."

The Dolphins got off to a 5-3 start but have since lost 4-of-6 and are now all but out of the playoff picture at 7-7 following their blowout, 41-13 loss at the hands of the Patriots on Sunday. Philbin went 7-9 in 2012 and 8-8 in 2013. He's now looking at another basically-.500 season. Past reports have stated that the players don't respect Philbin, even describing him as a "flat and unemotional" coach who merely handles "scheduling and planning." Look for owner Stephen Ross to go after Jim Harbaugh hard in the offseason when he's let go by the 49ers.

Rotowolrd:

The New York Post reports there's a "99.9 percent" chance Tom Coughlin remains the Giants' head coach in 2015.

With the Giants on a two-game win streak and sitting at 5-9, Coughlin's odds of keeping his job have increased the past couple weeks after it was guesstimated his chances of coming back were 50-50 last month. If 68-year-old Coughlin is back as the Giants' head coach, we'd expect the higher-ups to force his hand with coaching staff changes -- particularly DC Perry Fewell.

He was real upset last year with the coaching changes. Forcing him to make more could push him over the edge.

Rotoworld:

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Falcons plan to fire coach Mike Smith after the season.

La Canfora adds that "it would take a shocking playoff run to alter that scenario." This doesn't come as a surprise. Smith has been on the job for seven seasons now, but the team has taken a few steps back the past couple years. The Falcons are said to be looking at Broncos OC Adam Gase, Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, and Stanford coach David Shaw, among others, as replacements.

Just a matter of taste I suppose... Steelers fan here, and I would like to see Jim Harbaugh replace the "one of the guys" style of Mike Tomlin.

Fisher is the dirtiest coach in the NFL and has been for some time, today it was on full display.Greg Williams proves once and for all that the lifetime ban should've been applied, he needs to be blacklisted forever..Coughlin needs to speak up about this his team received cheap shot after cheap shot. Fisher is scum and so is Williams.

If Im the Jets Im getting rid of The Idzik but thinking seriously of keeping Rex, the guys play hard for him and he can coach them up,thats for sure..he just needs to hire Dirk Koetter or someone similar to handle the offense.

they have NO talent anywhere on that roster, and he gets that defense to play superb football..he'll look great as NE's def coordinator next season..

Philbin is a goner

Rob Ryan

Whisenhunt

Andy Reid - looks the same as he did in Philly with less wins..He's just not a good head coach..

Trestman

Pagano sucks, Its all Luck in Indy..they have no defense, no attempt at running the ball, its all Chuck-n-duck,getting The QB killed. puns intended

Lovie Smith is just plain terrible, and a bad,bad hiring in the first place.

Ron Rivera

I'd consider ditching Sean Payton, afterall, he hired Rob Ryan ..I just think that team is in decline, and the coaching is very suspect at times..Brees appears to have lost his fastball..they lost 5 games at home this season? oof..

someone should call Marty Schottenheimer, he'll guarantee you a 10-6 , 11-5 season, every single year..

Rex

every coach named Mike

Andrew Reid

Fisher

And the media called Philly fans ungrateful and impatient after 14 years.

And I doubt he's on the hot seat.

Rex is entertaining but I don't consider him a good head coach. His teams make to many mistakes. He is a good DC.

I think he is a good head coach, the way he is now. He just lacks on the offensive side of the ball. If he got a really good OC and stayed out of his way I think Rex would be a great head coach. His teams never quit on him, and he seems to always seems to over achieve with the talent around him.

Over the edge like he might drop dead? The guy has been flirting with the grim reaper for years.

Harbaugh is a different to put it nicely, but how fast do we forget what the 49ers looked like for the better part of a decade before he got there?

By the way that worst team in the NFL, has beaten 3 teams that were contending for the playoffs in the last 6 weeks

That is like saying Tim Tebow is a good QB - all he needs is a great O-line, running game and defense.

Harbaugh is a fantastic coach. That's never been an issue.

No it really isn't.
