I realize that most people will be switching back and forth, but which station do you "plan" on watching most?

I don't have any options as far as I can tell. TImeWarner here in Austin doesn't offer the NFL Network.

Just thinking that it will be very interesting to re-do this poll after the draft to see how many people ended up watching the NFL Network most (or vice versa).

I'm going to check out the NFL Network first to see how it is. ESPN has been horrible the last couple years. I don't think Berman knows anything about football and he's terrible at the draft.

I voted NFL Network as I will be attending the draft live and I am recording their re-cap shows.

Will start with ESPN and switch to NFL when ESPN sucks and during commercials. I have an idea that it will finish the other way around given my dislike of the quality of ESPN in general.

According to ESPN's typical business approach, they ussually drop big sportscaster with name recognition to help increase ratings.

I expect ESPN to roll out a heavy dose of Stuart Scott, Chris Berman and possibly Kenny Mayne (though I like him).

I don't want want name recognition, I want expertise.

When in doubt, go with the Kiper.

However a draft without having to hear Berman is very tempting.

I think I'd rather watch Berman, Kiper, M Irivin, etc over Mayock, Butch Davis, and Rich Eisen.
Good lord, you would want to listen to Michael Irvin and Chris Berman for NFL draft coverage? As much as I don't like Kiper, he is in his element on draft day so it is the one day where I actually enjoy listening to him.

ESPN.....just because of Kiper, and if Mayne is on there....that guy cracks me up.

Overall i'm a bigger NFL Network fan, as soon as that ##### Suzy Kolber opens her yap I'll flip over to NFL.

Lol....it's more of an anti Mayock, Davis, and Eisen comment moreso than a pro-Irivn & Berman comment!

 Suprised Mayock, Davis (not so suprised) and Eisen have you rubbed you that badly. Fair statement on your part.

How to do a Michael Irvin impersonation

1) Raise cheeks high enough to force your eyes to squint

2) Raise voice (but not to scream level) and begin every comment with, "WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! The way I see it is...."

3) Proceed to make ridiculous statement

4) After speaking, smile wide to show off your white teeth

5) Laugh at said person, turn and laugh at camera and finally turn and laugh at everyone else in the studio.

6) Proceed laughing if one senses someone else has something to say.

7) If necessary, raise volume of laughter and cycle through laughing at said person, camera and others in the studio.

We only have full coverage of the draft in Canada for those who have THE Network. ESPN's feed on TSN will be only for the FIRST THREE hours as they'll switch to the NHL playoffs at 3 pm.

So for me the answer was easy.... THE network.

Kiper is way too over-dramatic and acts like he's in a high school play when talking about prospects.

Rich Eisen > Chris Berman

Mike Mayock < Mel Kiper

Butch Davis = Michael Irvin (bland or annoying? no one wins)

In the end, though, I still will probably watch ESPN more. Old habits die hard.

Watch either one BUT turn off the sound and turn on

Sirius RADIO

Couldn't watch last year so I recorded ESPN and listened to Sirius radio live. When I went back and watched it the video announcing was terrible. To much focus on A. Rogers, people holding up shirts, and Mel's draft board.

I think it was that, on the radio, there was a lot more player insight, combine stories, and player / coach interviews along with the commentators experiences during previous drafts.

this can't be ***official*** because you didn't touch the arm of the guy next to you. michael irvin does this...a lot. just watch and laugh - he touches the arm of the guy sitting next to him all the timeon topic - mel kiper jr. keeps me on ESPN this year

Another Canuck here voting the NFL Network.TSN has simulcast 3-4 hours of 1st round ESPN coverage for several years, but it's just not enough for a draft-junkie.

A couple of years ago, after 20 picks give or take, they cut to a dog show.

I nearly put my foot through the TV.

I just hope that the NFL Network doesn't recap the top 10 picks every hour for 2 days, I mean how many freakin times do I have to be told that Reggie Bush was drafted 1st by the Texans, especially after hearing that since the end of College Footballs regular season?

ESPN Blows Big Chunks

I go where Kiper goes...love the guy.
Is he still pimp'n Big Mike Williams as the clear cut best player at any position in 2005?
Please...not too many first year WRs blow up. Additionally, no analyst is right on every guy.
If Kiper said Mike Williams would eventually have the best career of all the wide receivers in 2005, I would be a little more understanding. But he said Mike Williams would be the best player regardless of position.I give analyst more leeway (sp??) the further down their list we go. But I don't give much leeway at the very top of their list; BMW = #1 overall.

Given that BMW is a WR, I think we need to give him at least another year before this statement can be deemed incorrect.

I certainly would not be open to changing my mind later provided BMW breaks out and starts marching towards the HOF. But part of Kiper's hyperbole was how finished he was and that BMW could step on an NFL field immediately and contribute.Kiper deserves ridicule for the level of certainity he portrayed in BMW and the hyperbole in which he extolled the immediate greatness of BMW.

Edited - See above. :bag:

I agree that the hyperbole was extensive as it relates to BMW, but at the same time the hyperbole is part of what makes Kiper great IMHO. I don't mind hyperbole as long as it is backed by solid arguments.

One other thing, Joey Harrington down? There are several guys in Detroit that might be really good and we won't find out until this year.

I don't know if Harrington had anything to do with Lawerence Vines (sp??) getting ahead of BMW on the depth charts.

I switched a few times throughout the day, but the # of commercials on ESPN was unbearable & I ended up watching quite a bit of the NFL Network as much as I can't stand Mayock.

Too much Michael Irvin for me. My most memorable moment on ESPN today was Irvin blatantly interrupting Mort when talking about Jason Allen (Irvin was mumbling something & it came off so bad on air....EVERYONE on the set was thinking.....SHUT THE #### UP and let Mort get a word or two).

Mort rolled his eyes & didn't say another word after Irvin interrupted and gave a look like he wanted to kill Irvin. The face Mort gave was absolutely priceless.

----------------------------------------------

I was interested in watching the 2nd round on both networks, but both basically tailed off on the coverage and instead focused on side stories.

Maybe perhaps the networks should have a crew work the 1st round & another the 2nd. The fatigue of both crews showed & kind of turned me off as well.
