NFL Network INSANE camp coverage (1 Viewer)

The NFL network is running *live* camp coverage of all open training camps all day, every day PLUS a three-hour recap at night.

I know it's new so we don't have any precedent, but does this sound like something worth watching?

1. Is there information to glean from seeing the reps yourself?

2. Is there an analyst (other than Schefter) who might offer good insights?

3. Or is this like cable news where more coverage doesn't mean better (and at times even means worse)?

Schefter is cool, but follow beat writers on twitter- they'll give you in depth knowledge of each team that national guys like Schef don't have the time to cover...I agree that more coverage doesn't mean better, but they are the NFL Network so they might as well cover camps...better than constantly shoving stupid countdown shows down our throats

I'm loving this. Awesome background stuff when I work from home.

I was (was!) looking forward to that "NFL AM" show that begins at 6am on Monday, but that Mark Kriegel dude is off-the-charts annoying! He's combative just for the sake of it, almost like he's channeling Stephen A. Smith. He steps all over Steve Wyche when he's trying to speak, but worst of all, it appears as though he has no idea what he's talking about. And he does it all with a grating Noo Yawk accent.

First Dukes, then Sapp, now this clown. Whomever does the hiring at NFLN needs a baseball bat to the head.

They had Chris Hanson on yesterday at the Cardinals camp, and he reported that Kevin Kolb got the first snap! And then he said something like "and there we have it, the #1 QB currently for the Cardinals."

I imagine there will be more coverage to mull over in about two weeks.

1. There is information to glean from seeing the reps if you know what to look for. bottom line is: Not everyone does. That includes some beat writers.2. it's possible. Usually you can something from most analysts, but the key is knowing when they say something good or knowing when they are full of crap.3. dont know, havnt watched it yet.

:goodposting: You read my mind, could not agree more. The first clip I saw of them was that guy HAMMERING Wyche about Kevin Kolb, screaming about their W-L%. Information without context is a dangerous thing

Not to mention that screaming at Steve Wyche is like screaming at a puppy. He seems like a real gentleman. If anyone knows who's in charge of the hiring/firing of the talent at NFLN, please let me know. I'd love to drop him an email.

RN, thanks for giving me that guy's name. I've only heard him over the Sirius broadcast of NFL Total Access. Holy crap, what a deusche.

I was watching it yesterday-Rob Housler TE looks noticeably bigger.

I think there are a lot of things you can glean from the coverage, mostly appearances. Who looks in shape, who looks sloppy, etc....

That's one of the things I look for.

They had Cam, Derek Anderson, Claussen throwing in tandem, and it was like watchiing a Jugs Machine(Cam) vs DA and Claussen. Just the way the ball comes out of Cam's hand, and his delivery is so much smoother.

Have not watched anything today.....

Some fantasy expert on the NFL network today was talking about how you can get Fred Davis cheap because of the 4 game suspension he's going to be serving to start the year.

I've seen many on this board make the same mistake. Conversely, some were stumping for mikel LeShoure as the week 1 starter.

All this coverage of the Cardinals and I didn't see Ryan Williams once. Did I miss him or did they not show him?
