NFL players .. MRI's ....... steel plates in face (1 Viewer)

BL Titans

How often do players have MRIs for knees, ankles, muscle tears etc ? Often would be a safe bet, we know that Ben has underwent several already.

My question is this - those pltes and scrwes in his face ......... how will that affect the MRI's later ?

It shouldn't at all. Most of the metal getting shoved in patients these days are MRI safe. Furthermore, the artifact (picture disortion that is technical in nature) that implanted metal can give you is only relevent when that metal is in the same snapshot as the item/anatomy you're wanting to looking at. So, Big Ben's titanium jaw won't have an effect on any picture=MRI of his knee or shoulder or ankle or cervical or lumbar spine (should he ever need one). If he ever needs an MRI of his jaw or soft tissue part of his neck, it might be an issue...but that would be exceedingly rare for a football related injury.
