**NFL Saturday Doubleheader - Texans 9-5 at Chiefs 13-1**(-3.5, 42) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Ok I just rewound and watched the Perrine play and it might be one of the greatest play calls of all time

When Perrine motioned left, the Houston DB playing man coverage on him dropped down right to the line of scrimmage. I’m guessing Reid had scouted that Texans D tendency and knew they would do that when Perrine motioned

And then because the DB was on the line of scrimmage, Kelce straight up turned and blocked him at the snap - legally because the DB was on the Line

No way of knowing, of course, but my guess is that play was specifically put in vs this DB based on study of Houston D tendencies

Thanks for checking on that because I couldn’t tell if that was legal or not. Pretty awesome if it was.
Kelce’s block was as totally legal, it was behind the Line. My original post was a little wrong, it was Gay who motioned outside and his man followed him in man and then the Nickel DB moved up in the slot on that side of the formation - he faked blitz but his responsibility was man coverage on the RB when he went out instead of staying into block. But because he was at the line faking blitz, Kelce blocked him legally. Just a Hall of Fame play design, you see Kelce give the TD signal as Perrine goes down the sideline, so you know it’s something special they drew up

Why did I play Kelce over JT ? I mean both have sucked lately but JT scores more if he doesn't drop the ball walking in.

Just dumb how bad Kelce has been and yet I am equally dumb starting him.

When good old fashioned rockabilly became your anthem for an advertisement showing Polaroids of a fishing trip.

You got old.

I think we watched the changing of the guard this year and I’d be awfully surprised if Kelce comes back. If he does come back then he needs to rededicate himself to supreme physical conditioning rather than just maintaining.

Noah Gray is ready to step in. They extended him. He’s looked excellent (he’s no prime Kelce).

I’m almost to the point to quit watching games involving the Chiefs. What the refs are doing is embarrassing.
Especially when you see the calls like the one on Dell. Official couldn't have possibly seen a penalty since there wasn't one. The defensive holding that nullified the sack was almost just as bad.

I thought the officiating in the Thursday game was really one sided as well. Chargers had two penalties for 8 yards vs 7/61 against Denver. No dog in that fight, but seemed the LA team at home was getting some preferential treatment. Getting harder to watch for sure.

Mahomes gets to 12 pts in the first drive and sits now at 15...........dude is as frustrating a QB as you could ever own this year.

It’s too bad that Pacheco broke his leg because he’s become a much more patient runner and better following his blocks.

A lot of us Texans fans who were upset at Caserio for not taking earlier CB and safety, have some crow to eat with how Lassiter and Bullock are playing.

Lassiter has made two big plays

In Barnwell's too early picks for rookie awards after week 4, he was his defensive rookie of the year. Might have lost out on that due to missing some time to injury, but he's been good all year.

Bullock too. Someone last week or the one before said he not only has played at a Pro Bowl level, but All Pro shouldn't be out of the question.

This was Dell's best fantasy game of the year at 21.8 PPR pts and we just started the 3rd. I am guessing not many played him.

Stroud having 1 of his best games of the year most people ranked him as 20th or lower QB so doubt many started him.

Ah man, hate to see this. Two years in a row for Dell. The Texans can't catch a break with their WR core. They really need the little guy to stretch those defenses. I know there are some Metchie fans in here but he's not that dude :kicksrock:

Stroud in near tears how will they finish the game is the question now. Always tough for teams after these kind of injuries.

Yeah. Sucks to see that happen, especially the game he was having against a good KC defense. Tough player to still make that catch……

Not a fan of either team, hate to see that for Dell. Big respect for Stroud in how that all went down and the emotions shown.
