George Jefferson

According to my NFL sources, the Cleveland front office is currently in the midst of working out a trade of William Green. In my opinion this could be the best thing that's ever happened to Mr Green as he's clearly been misused in Cleveland and his enormous talent has been put on hold for several years. It's time for him to run to the front of the pack of elite NFL RB's. Apparently, William Green will be offered the starting job on his new team so we have to be thinking teams without an established #1 are posible suitors....New York Jets, Houston Texans, etc.

It's been a while since George Jefferson has pimped his main man William Green.

One of the best FBG shticks but this is a really, really poor effort.

You are looking at the new RB coach at Boston College, then he gets fired for giving booze to underaged children.

So you ARE his agent. :banned:

Signed a five-year, $7.85 million deal in July 2002. The Browns reached an injury settlement with Green (quad), making him a free agent in Sept. of 2006.

Lol, good luck on the trade.

IIRC, Green was already a free agent and could sign with any team. Here was a blurb from the Browns website.

Browns, Green part waysZac Jackson, Staff Writer 09.08.2006The Browns have reached an injury settlement with William Green, cutting ties with the 2002 first-round draft pick. The Browns have just three of their seven first-round picks since returning to the league in 1999 still on the roster -- Kellen Winslow ('04), Braylon Edwards ('05) and Kamerion Wimbley ('06).Green didn't play in the Browns' preseason finale due to a quadriceps injury and was placed on injured-reserve last weekend when the Browns trimmed the roster to the regular season size of 53.By reaching an injury settlement with the Browns, Green is now free to sign with any other NFL team. After 10 weeks, he would eligible to return to the Browns. The Browns also cut running back Lee Suggs and kept three running backs -- Reuben Droughns, Jerome Harrison and Jason Wright.
Green was not in the contract databse, and I do not believe he ever was re-signed at any point, which would point to him being a free agent.

I doubt anyone would give up even a 7th rounder for WG. I'd even say if the Browns released him, half the teams in the league wouldn't have any interest.

Is Suggs on the Fins? Where did he wind up?

Romeo got rid of alot of dead wood for the next coach

Green continued to appear on the Browns IR list all season as "undisclosed", so I'm assuning he still has some type of contractual attachment to the team.
