NFL uniform policy (1 Viewer)

I know the NFL has a very strict policy regarding what players and coaches are allowed to wear during games and press conferences. That all well and good.

I was sorta surprised to see the officials all wearing a pink ribbon sewn into the upper right chest of their uniforms this past weekend. I assume they had them all month (October is Breast CA awareness month), I just noticed this weekend.

I have no problem with them having them, I just found it odd that the NFL would condone it, when Manning wasn't allowed to wear black sneakers a few years ago to honor Johnny U.

The key word in your post is "all" when referring to the officials. If the entire Colts team wore the black hightops, then the NFL uniform police would have had not issues. That's the definition of "uniform." Since all the officials wore the ribbon, then I see no double standard.

The NFL did not just "allow" or "condone" it...Im pretty sure they probably mandated the wearing of the ribbons as the league is trying to put the awareness up front as much as they can during some of these games. There is no double standard...just a baseless complain here really.
