NFLDraftGuys: ConstruxBoy Breaks Down Tony Hunt's Tape (1 Viewer)

Big fan of Hunt. Could be alittle faster but I like his future. Should be a 2nd round pick and in my opinion would be an excellent pick for Atl, Pitt or Seattle with their 2nd selection. If he slips to the 3rd someone will be really happy. I know I'm higher on him than others but I really think he is a special rb and he's the third best coming out this year in my opinion.

Thanks Cec!

It was fun. The general idea that I was a guy who watched a lot of football and concentrated on the RBs. Hoping other people who watch the tape could add/disagree with my observations of Hunt. Hoping to do more as the week goes on.

You need any game tape just call me. I have most NFL games from 1992 'til now. I have a very good college collection that starts around 1999. :(

nice job CB. I look forward to reading your other analyses. Was hoping to read a more positive critque of Hunt though :(

Yeah, well as a Penn State alum, I was too, lol. I think he could be successful in the right system and he does have a lot of toughness and is a hard worker. But when you look at the tapes, he really just does not move laterally well at all. In the NFL, you usually need to be able to do that to elude the faster defenders. However, he certainly does have some decent wiggle and can juke out some guys while running North-South. Whether that will still work in the pros remains to be seen. But really, in my opinion, anytime you watch college tapes, you have to imagine the defenders being faster and stronger and there being a lot less open space. Heck, even Reggie Bush took half a season to get used to it.

For the glory....

I think given the right system he could do well ie not a team who tries to ride his back to victory, but has a balanced attack etc. Not a flashy guy but could do well in a sort of "workmanlike" way.
