NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (2 Viewers)

I'm at the Wings/Sabres, just paid $6 to watch the last 4 minutes here at the Joe. Thanks Stubhub!!!111!!!!1!
:lmao:

that's awesome
This reminds me of the time a buddy and I went to an Expos game in late June. This was mid-'90s, but when they still drew crowds in the 20k range

We casually walked down and grabbed two unoccupied seats two rows off the first base side, figuring we'd sit there until we got booted out one way or another. Two girls with mixed drinks finally showed up with those tickets in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Most people don't buy their tickets last minute though, they get them well in advance and pay a premium... If you can hold out until like 6pm for a 7pm game, you'll always score a good deal on a place like Stubhub, or if you're at your computer during the day of the event and can just refresh constantly. I'm just offering friendly advice. I'm sitting center ice for a very in demand game tonight in club seats for below face, I feel like I have mastered Stubhub at this point.
still think everybody knows this. they just buy earlier because they don't want the stress of waiting to the last minute.
Stubhub also has price alerts, saves pressing refresh 12x an hour.

Nice 13 minute effort from the Caps last night after basically mailing it in the 1st and 2nd period.

Nash looked great again and certainly has turned his game around after last years debacle.

Flyers win 3rd straight to boost them back to .500.

Treading water in the land of mediocrity. Not good enough for the playoffs, not bad enough to land one of the true blue-chippers next June.

In fairness, I think the concussion he got in the second or third game really affected him last year

Another waste of a year.

Cup parade on hold there, Brasky?? That's terrible losing to them at home.

Flyers are 0-5 in shootouts this year, and Islanders are 6-0.

If Flyers won every shootout and Islanders lost every shootout, the two teams would only be 1 point apart.

Detroit is 1-7 in shootouts and near the top of the standings while Buffalo is 5-1.

last night was a complete disaster. Wild have not put together a full game in a while now and last two have been pathetic all around. hopefully a wake up call because that effort last night was unacceptable.

Yeo's seat getting hot yet?

kids aren't producing/inconsistent, PP still sucks, D coverage/structure has fallen apart, Vanek is an anchor 4 out of 5 games, and goaltending isn't able to bail out weak play in front of them. untill the last week or so they still were playing fine overall, just a bad period here and there that sometimes couldn't recover from. last two games though have been just bad all around. last night should never happen to a Flyers team they are much better than at home. have to have those two points. they were outplayed all night other than about a half period in the 1st. Yeo has tried just about everything lately but I don't think he's in trouble at all. PP falls squarely on Brunette too. they shuffled a bit last night, including sitting down Haula, and eventually shaking up the lines in the 3rd. I think we see a big lineup shuffle after the break, maybe even a surprise scratch like Vanek.

4 points out of the upcoming home and home with Winnipeg is a must. can't lose more ground there.

Funny, but I put the game on with 2 minutes gone in the third period. It was total domination by the Caps. Thought for sure they would tie the score.

probably got seats right on the glass too.

You guys can joke all you want, but my Stubhub System is unbeatable. 8 rows back, center ice, in demand game and I'm paying below face.
The funny thing for me is you just figured out how to use this "system" most have used for years.

They had 11 total shots the first 2 periods and 21 alone for the 3rd if that tells you anything. If not for the Backstrom call I believe they had a real shot to get at least a point out of it.

This is false... If "most" people bought tickets this way, then it no longer works.

StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, recent survey findings show that the landscape of ticket buying on the secondary market is trending towards last-minute purchases, and this procrastination is paying off for StubHub fans. Compared to three years ago, more than half of respondents said they are making more last-minute plans, and nearly 30 percent said they have attended sporting events or concerts planned within three days of the event. Further, while many of the fans surveyed perceived that tickets would be more expensive closer to the event, StubHub found that on average those who waited until the day of an event paid 30 percent less than if they had purchased tickets one month prior.

This just isn't worth debating anymore. You guys can buy your tickets however you want, I don't care.

Nice win by the Rangers last night
No debating going on here I just never knew you were the guy who created this "system" I had been using for years.Congrats!

Also,It was a nice win and this should be a fun last 3 games between these teams before the season ends if last night was any indication.I still thought one of Nashs' goals he was offside but in the end it didn't matter.Well done!

I have a new "system" of buying Christmas presents online at places like Amazon where I don't have to pay Sales Tax in Illinois. Not sure why everybody else keeps shopping in malls.

The Stubhub system, how to buy tickets:

Pro Tip...

Basically fool proof for almost any event. Wait until the day of the game, set the sections you want (note, there should be multiple pairs in the sections), refresh your screen every 5-10 minutes. The sellers who all set their prices too high become desperate as the game draws closer. Over the course of the day, you'll find certain seats dropping and dropping in price. Amazing system.

Just scored 10th row, center ice seats for below face value.
Center ice isn't a good place to watch hockey IMO. Much better to be on the blue line in the end where your team shoots twice.

Just a heads-up on this groundbreaking system - it works well when most of the tickets are STH owned and/or scalpers trying to unload.

It does NOT work well for poor attendance teams i.e. Florida Panthers. A lot of the Panthers tickets on stubhub are actually sold by team. Those prices do not come down day of game.

Worst seats I've ever had for hockey games were second row next the penalty box for an NCAA tournament session in Albany (bought them at the box office pregame, FWIW), and the Frozen Four in DC in '09, about four rows off the ice next to one of the benches. Spent half the game watching the video board on the latter one -- but at least I wasn't with my buddy up the balcony who had a drunk Miami fan fall down about five rows and bounce off the back of his head.

Hey Doc D, guess what? I don't give a ####...
Yeah, you do and that's the problem. You are so enamored with fitting in that your message is lost.

You don't seem very smart on anything at all, but maybe there will be some sort of epiphany where you become a normal asset to the forum. I would bet against it based on what I've seen from you, but you can always dream!

It takes a brave man to recognize that he was wrong but not to admit it. Bravo sir, bravo. ;)

Have my eyes on Madison Bowey who I loved that the Caps drafted and Jakub Vrana who I haven't seen much lately of but have heard nothing but good things about.
