NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

From Wpg and follow the Jets a great deal. This trade could be a win/win if (and that is a huge "if"), both Kane and Bogo get their act together. There is a lot more going on in that dressing room and elsewhere with those two guys than has ever been mentioned in the media. Since I doubt very much both of them will ever come close to straightening out, I think this is a slam dunk win for the Jets. The Jets are at worst even for the remainder of the season and on top of it, get three prime prospects to continue to build around.

We couldn't have asked for a better deal!
you saying there are issues with Bogosian? like what?
Aside from his play (I was at the Dallas game and we all started cheering when Maurice finally benched him!), there are credible reports of serious hard partying. The type Betty Ford will need to assist with.

curious to hear what Northern Voice thinks of the deal. I know he was the #1 fan of Bogosian around the time he was drafted, but I think even he had cooled on him recently.
Nope, I still think he'll be an absolute stud. Getting top minutes in Buffalo will let everyone see what he's capable. He can dominate you at either end of the ice, I give him 5 games in a Sabres uniform before he's your favourite player. Love the deal for the Sabres.

Downie's penalty leads to Detroit goal, ending MAF shutout streak at 165:06. Eight minutes short of the franchise record but a new personal best for MAF.

I'll be traveling all day and tonight - what is the option for watching nhl games (Lightning) on mobile. And how much?

I don't think Kessel or Phaneuf get traded before the deadline.
those are big contracts so would probably be tough to work out trades with contending teams.

could definitely see them waiting til the offseason to move either or both.
Ducks and Preds have some wiggle room as do a few others but agree they may wait till offseason to pull the trigger unless the offer is just too good.Isles would be an interesting fit.

Wonder if Ryan O'Reilly for Phaneuf is a possibility.

If I'm Toronto, the only guy off my current roster I consider untradeable is Rielly. Anyone else is available. Problem for them is the guys they are likely most interested in moving - Phaneuf, Kessel, Clarkson - will be the ones most difficult to ditch. I'm curious to see what they get for any of those three.

you think Kessel would be hard to move?

I imagine a lot of teams that have trouble scoring would be interested in him.

EDIT: Pierre LeBrun thinks he'd be easy to move too:

I think it would be hard for them to get what they expect or need to get in return, yes. He makes a ton of money and he's known to be soft and a total one-dimensional player. Sure he can produce points, but I think what they will want for him will be a lot higher than what any other team is willing to offer. Doesn't help that he's in a huge slump and may have an injury of some kind right now.

Just my thoughts. I'm usually wrong.

I would think the injury to Zucker might make the Wild a player, although I don't think they'd take on that contract. Or if they even can? But they are going to struggle even more to score goals now.

Kevin Hayes is really turning into something. He's been great for a couple weeks and the goal he scored tonight was beautiful.

lol...was going to write exactly the same thing. He's really been impressive the past couple of weeks. I really like how he plays. Makes some dumb mistakes at times but he's just a kid and I'd rather see someone like that being a little overaggressive. That goal was a beauty!

oh, and...ZZZZUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC! He's so fun to watch when he gets on a roll. He seems like the kinda guy whose enthusiasm can be infectious on the team.

Predators are going to be a tough out. Weber may have blown up Tyler Myers kneecap with a slapshot tonight.

And that was an awesome "Potvin Sucks" chant. Louder than the Garden!
Sweet... as an Islander fan, I absolutely love it.
I couldn't say the same for "1940" Glad the Rangers finally put an end to that in 94.
Just got back from the barn with my 6yo daughter.... she gets a kick out of "If you know the Rangers suck clap you hands"......

But, yeah.... I couldn't imagine chanting "Ron DauGay Sucks" or something.

The Bruins cannot beat Montreal to save their lives .... 0-4 this season.

But the Habs have lost at home to the Sabres, Yotes and Oilers in the past week. Weird.

I liked the pass to boyle better
Or the setup to Hagelin.
I think we can say he had a very nice game last night

Good win after giving up a 2 goal lead.

They are looking really solid. What are your thoughts on Miller vs Fast. I like Miller better but AV clearly leans Fast. What am I missing

Would be happy to play both. I think Fast is a bit more consistent and is better defensively, while Miller seems to make one mistake a game that is a potential back breaker.

If they end up making a fairly major deal, I could see Miller going the other way, and even though I wouldn't want to part with him, I'd be okay with that because he doesn't seem like he's going to get a chance to break out under AV.

Zuc was being spoken of as a trade target. If so, his performance over the past couple of weeks is driving the benefits of a trade up.

On a side note, WTF is going on with Marty StL? That give away in his own end last night was terrible.
