Nice to see that smug look wiped off of Lovie Smith's face (1 Viewer)

I have to say that it's nice to see Lovie have that smirk wiped off his face. As a Packer fan, it sure got annoying. He has owned the Packers since coming in the league and always kind of had the Phil Jackson smug look thing going. Nice to see his team exposed.

They are who Dennis Green thought they were!

they are injured and that is not what denny green thought:kicksrock:... i kind of agree though, some of the coaching decisions this year are pissing me off

Phil Jackson? Without doubt ...

Lovie? I've always felt he has a look of uncertainty on his face. I can't believe this guy is a head coach as he hardly ever gives the impression he is firmly in charge and on top of the situation. I would love to see Cowher coaching the Bears. Just my :2cents: .

wow... .that is the first time I've heard anyone refer to Lovie Smith as smug.

Personally, I think he's not only one of the more likeable coaches in the NFL, but probably near the top of the list when it comes to character.

I agree. I think people just make up stuff in their heads to harp on people sometimes. You may not like Lovie, but he sure isn't "smug"This is a pretty tough year in Bearland though and the coaching has not been very good either, i do agree with that.

Really? I've alway thought he was smug. Doesn't mean I don't think he's of high character. I think he's very high character.

I thought the same thing, to me Lovie always looks a little dumbfounded, not saying much. Maybe that is why the Bears waited so long to give him a new deal.

Me too. He did come in saying he was going to beat the Packers but I saw it as confidence more than arrogance.

I remember how the Bears performed before he got there. They looked incapable of even lining up correctly for basic plays. Lovie has brought them a long ways. As for his facial exporessions my life precludes me from worrying about such matters.

Totally! It's so easy to see someones character by watching them stand on the sideline. The guy is totally a jerk. Just look at how he stands and looks. I mean, have you ever seen the way he blinks??? If those eye lids don't say smug, I don't know what does.

Smug? no. However, I do think he's made some bad coaching decisions this year. An example of that last night was kicking the FG with a minute to play instead of going for it on 4th down from the 4. Doesn't he know that his chances of scoring a TD from mid field with only a few seconds left are slim to none, even if he does recover the onside kick? If he goes for it from the 4 and scores, then recovers the onside kick, all they would need is a FG. Much more doable than a TD.

How does this team go from 1st in the division to worst in 1 year? I'll tell ya how. Because they were a farce to begin with. A bunch of lucky wins due to mistakes by the opposition. When that well goes dry, it's down to talent and Chicago has little. They lived off of stripping the ball and Hester special teams TD's. Not a good formula for sustained dominance.

Coming from a Packer fan I would expect nothing less. :kicksrock:

My guess is the Packer fans are cringing after reading what he wrote.

Haven't gotten over Lovie taking the lowly Bears into Lambaeau and beating your Packers in his first season. Sour grapes man. Get over it and stop the whining. The guy is one of the good guys. He's good people so to speak. If he wasn't coaching a division rival you wouldn't be whining like this...

How am I whining. I am reveling in the Bears misfortune. It's the opposite of whining.

Coming from a Bears fan I have to agree with the Cheesehead. The Bears WAY overachieved last year and arrogantly believed it was because they were that good. Exactly the same thing that happened in 2001 and 2005. Management seems incapable of seriously evaluating player talent. They seem to think this is a 10+ win team who has flukey 7 win seasons when it's actually just the opposite.

I agree with dumbfounded as the right word for Lovie, not smug.

Although "dumb" certainly fits too when he tries two fade routes in the end zone to a rookie tight end in the last minute of last night's game. I shook my head....totally dumbfounded by the bumbling coaching staff calling those plays.

Lovie Smith looks smug? That is news to me.

FavreCo's post was absurd. The Bears were a great team last year. Injuries and a lack of a running game have killed them this year.

I hope you can reflect on the things you just said and come to realize that they are very hurtful. I am sure Lovie Smith is a fine man and would take the time out of his day to help you if he came across you in distress. Please take a few deep breaths and remember that life is too short to hold grudges like this. Have a great Friday Sabertooth.

Do we really need to be talking like this, guys? Every thread needs some sunlight, a rainbow, kitten farts, or anything positive and uplifting. I don't see that in here. This morning I will be saying a prayer to the Lord to melt your heart. Let me shed a little love on your soul!

I don't agree with that. Tank was a loss and the Mark Anderson starter experiments didn't work. Seems like more of a KGB situational player.Benson is a bust, but injuries are the biggest problem there.

this is true...Lovie always looks lost to me but I think he's a good coach, no clue what hes thinking giving bob babich the d coordinator job, that guys is actually clueless.
