That story is insane.

Trying to imagine the angle some FBG contrarian will argue to make this your niece and daughte's fault but I'm coming up empty.
We've only heard one side of the story. As reported by 7th graders. And filtered through several family members until a guy put it on the Internet. I'm wondering if there may be another side to such a far fetched story.
First I don't find it at all far fetched and second Wrigley has never given us a reason to doubt his veracity.
You don't think the cops saying they can't press charges against a minor for a violent assault of the type described is far fetched?

It's true, I've only got one side of the story. But I've got no reason not to believe my niece, who has nothing to gain from this story

She truly is terrified of these girls

There's always 2 sides. The odds of your niece being jumped for no reason is very unlikely. I've worked with teens for a while now, there's always been something. I haven't seen any truely random attack. Also, the cop part of the story sounds fishy. I would want to talk to that officer as I bet he has something different to say (if there even is an officer).

This. Either the niece or the friend knew the girl(s). It's still a very sad story, but there is definitely so much more to it.

Update? I'm asking because if you've sat on your hands all this time now, this is a fishing trip For sure.

Is it my place to do anything?

I mean, it wasn't my niece that was assaulted, although she is very much scared out of her mind.

This is no fishing trip.

Have you gone down to the police department yourself Wrigley? If so what did they say? If not, I think you should.

It seems likely to me the story is not really what happened, but what was told to you. For example, if someone was going to do a random attack, why wouldn't they attack both girls?

But if it actually was a true story, because of the Moms involvement, this is the type of story that the local and network news would be all over, so I would think about calling a local news channel. Or at least threatening the police over it. Especially since, if this was true it seems your niece is in danger to be next and you need to demand police involvement.

what would you do if it was the friend of your niece. A family you dont know and have never met
post on fbgs about it
Right

I just drove her home and tried to get more information out of her.

She stands by her story that she heard the mother tell her daughter to "make that little girl bleed"........and "why don't you just beat the crap out of her"

According to my niece, this attack was completely unprovoked.....in fact, her friend tried walking away several times.

Not sure if that matters(I'm sure some will think I'm fishing), but the girls that were attacked are white, while their attackers are not. My niece didn't think the attack was racial, but she really doesn't know why it happened either.

No more far fetched than any number of news articles I read everyday that detail far greater issues within our law enforcement structure.

Why won't the police pursue this?

It's a pretty sensational story. I would expect law enforcement and the press would be all over something like this, particularly now that he's told us there is a racial aspect.
