Notable CUTS - 2019 (1 Viewer)

Yeah they surprisingly cut Tevecchio. for the guy

Doesn't CHI have Pinerio? I haven't really kept up with him this preseason. I just remember as a Florida fan everyone was so happy when he came aboard and was our most consistent kicker we had since Caleb Sturgis. I know Eddie got IR'd by Oak last year then went to CHI this offseason
CHI is kind of jittery with their PKs due to the Parkey situation last year.  I also missed Gano having some issues, one of them might end up in CAR for a bit

So it's bad advice for him to sign with TEN to begin with, but it's also bad advice to not sign with them.

Huh.
the next step for a rookie that didn't make a team is PS. A veteran might sign somewhere and be on the active roster, but there's too much apprehension that it's rare for a rookie. Once on a PS then he can get claimed elsewhere.

I don't like it. I've whined about it for years.

Haha yeah, he shouldn't have signed with them anyways right?
Stayed in college. A normal agent pays a fee to a group that queries those in the know to find out where he'll go.

Ok, Jaron is back as WR2. Disregard his cut.

Seahawks re-signed WR Jaron Brown.

The Seahawks surprisingly released Brown Saturday after he was expected to work alongside Tyler Lockett in 2-WR sets. His presence complicates the potential for DK Metcalf (knee) to have a large Week 1 role. It's tough to pin down just how many snaps any of the Seahawks wide receivers and tight ends will have other than Lockett, who is locked in as Russell Wilson's No. 1 pass-game option. Regardless, the entire offense is set up well in Week 1 against a Bengals defense that ranked 28th in overall DVOA last season (Football Outsiders).

So you're telling me that drafting Metcalf last night was a mistake then?
Quite possibly, yes. It definitely clouds his early usage.

there was a lot of chatter out of camp about how comfortable Jaron was, and early speculation that he’d be the WR2 (which happened) and that he was a very different receiver from Metcalf or Lockett or anyone else - that he’d provide the reliable underneath stuff on short / medium routes, and that wilson and he had chemistry.

So while not a direct challenge because they fulfill different roles,  Brown likely keeps Metcalf off the field in 2 WR sets.

I don’t see Lockett coming off for Metcalf, well, ever, so yeah - not a great thing for Metcalf.

Metcalf was ahead of Brown before he had the surgery. He was the starter in 2 WR sets.

Metcalf was heralded as an elite run blocking WR but I haven't heard anything from camp about that. But it's a reason that he would be out there in 2 WR sets. A lot. And the play action opportunities that he affords. If he can be healthy he can be huge.

That’s not what I’d read.
I’m not sure what you read but look through the Metcalf thread it’s all there.

DK Metcalf one of the starting receivers in two-receiver sets

DK METCALFWR, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf were the starting receivers in two-receiver sets at Sunday's training camp practice.

Since being drafted with the No. 64 overall pick, Metcalf has been praised by both Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson for his work during offseason practices. Carroll believes Metcalf can run all routes in the route tree -- not just verts -- and Wilson is impressed with Metcalf's understanding of the Seahawks' offense. Even in this run-first offense, Metcalf has upside at ADP as a deep threat and red zone option who gets the benefit of playing with one of the league's most efficient passers.
