Mike Tomlin said today in his press conference that QB Dennis Dixon will have surgery tomorrow morning. Extent of the damage will not be known until then so there is no estimate of how long he will be out. He definitely will not suit up this this week against Tampa thogh.

Byron Leftwich is back working out with the team and will practice this week and he does not anticipate a problem with Byron's knee. He said that Charlie is probably in the "pole position" to start this week because he is 100% healthy but said they will let the week play itself out to see how they distribute the reps in practice.

The Steelers are not looking to sign another quarterback at this time. Tomlin said that WRs Antwaan Randel El, Arnaz Battle and even Hines Ward are options as emergency quarterbacks.

Other notes:

NT Casey Hampton, WR Emmanuel Sanders, LB Jason Worilds, and OT Max Starks all should be back this week.

OG Trai Essex has an ankle injury and will be limited this week in practice. If he cannot go then Doug Legursky will start in his place.

Tomlin said WR Antonio Brown has "made a case for himself" to be active after returning a kickoff for a touchdown last week.

I have a torn miniscus in my right knee for 10 years now, Dixon is SOFT
Dixon is so soft that he started a game two weeks after tearing his ACL.
So?? Belljr started TWO games one week after tearing his ACL! :P
Not only that, I passed a kidney stone one night and WORKED THE NEXT DAY :goodposting:ETA: Serious note - Has Sanders seen the field at all? I only was able to view the Tenn. game.
Sanders played in week 1 but did not have any receptions (really weren't that many opportunities). He did have a kickoff return for 20 yards or so.
