Now that Randy Moss has been waived, what is his worth? (1 Viewer)

Obviously depends on how quickly and where Moss ends up with a new team, but what is his value right now?

Is he still worth a high end WR? Is he now so devalued that he's worth only a WR3? Somewhere in the middle?

Is he worth more than a Mike Wallace? An inconsistent but high scoring Jeremy Maclin? An injured but at one point dominating Malcom Floyd?

Just trying to assess Moss' value - which I concede is a difficult thing to do.

Ultimately depends on the team and how they use him. If they feature Moss then he will be solid. If they just let him run and use as a decoy then maybe WR3 at best. In other words if Stl claims Moss then Bradford will be throwing to him a ton. That would be a prime spot. It's all about opportunity and targets in fantasy football. Whether you have the name Moss or not.

I think it depends on where he ends up, but I can't see him going into a situation where I'll start him at least for the next two weeks. After that you'll probably have a better idea.

If I was looking to trade him, Malcom Floyd would be an interesting name. They both are in sticky (injury, V-Jax) situations where their future value isn't locked in.

He's not a guy I'm looking to trade because I don't think I can get a guy back that will fit in with what I need but if someone offered me a legit #2 I would have to consider it. So I guess if I'd trade him for a #2 then I value him as a borderline 2/3/flex play.

If he ends up on the Redskins, I think it's a big bump in value from the Vikings. There was a statistic during the game yesterday showing how the McNabb leads the league in 40 yd+ attempts and completions, and they also went into some detail about how in the Eagles' system his read projection went from short, to intermediate, to deep, and that the Shanahan system has it working the opposite way - where the deep read is his first look. On Moving the Chains tonight PK said that he saw the Skins as being a viable spot for Moss this year.

If Randy Moss is waived, and if he goes to Washington, I think it's good for his value, as well as a bump for McNabb, Grossman (assuming Moss gets on the field for the 2 min drill), Santana Moss, and Cooley.

I offered Mike Williams (TB) for him. If it doesn't work out, then Garcon/Steve Smith/Knox can have fun in my #3 slot. If it does work out, happy days with Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnson/Randy Moss. Boom.

There is a remote chance that the team doesn't waive Moss and uses this opportunity to fire Childress for acting alone without consulting them about such a move. Childress has the whole Vikings team against him and most fans want him gone. This is the perfect opportunity if there ever was one.

He's damaged goods. I think any team would be crazy to take him.
Same was said about TO a couple years back.
And he's doing awesome things, I know. Big difference between fantasy football and the real thing. If you want stats, Moss might be your guy. If you want to win a super bowl, better keep looking. The Pats put up tremendous numbers in the regular season with Moss, no doubt about it. But as time wore on, they had to go farther and farther to placate an increasingly testy, insecure Moss. In the end, they decided to move on before things went totally sour.

In a dynasty he might have been worth Wallace or Maclin before the trade to Minnesota, a lot less now. Redraft, I think that's about right. In a dynasty I might give a 2nd round pick for him in I need a WR for the playoffs. In a redraft, I think it's a toss up between VJax, Rice and Moss.

went ahead and got rid of him for DHB and 1000.00 WW dollars (1000.00 is what we get for each season to spend on WW/FA's)

I got other wr's where i can get by so i dont have to worry about starting Randy, he is quiet hard NOT to start even though ive had better options.

Watching Moss this year I just don't think he possesses one elite quality any more. Unlike other great WRs like Jerry Rice and TO, Moss is not a guy that has adjusted his game with age. He doesn't work the middle of the field or have any physical presence to his game. At this point he can still catch an occasional deep ball and be a good goalline target but his days as a WR1 or even WR2 in fantasy look over to me.

how did he fall off so fast and hard though?I mean for Welker and Moss to go from consensus #1's to total busts is unreal.I'm still blown away that in a contract year... that a guy who you think would be motivated by money couldn't get it going for one last monster year, get paid, then quit on whoever paid him.or maybe i'm just bitter because my WR's I drafted were.... Moss and Welker... and that's a big part of being in last place.

In order of teams I think he will go to:

1. Pats - WR ~20

2. Rams - WR ~20

3. Chargers - WR ~30

4. Chiefs - WR ~30

5. Colts - WR ~20

6. Steelers/Ravens/Bengals - WR ~40

7. Non-Contenders - WR ~50
