How long after Jan 20, 2017 will Obama start undermining Trump's Presidentency...or will he give the

We can all agree that after GW Bush left the White House, he kept pretty quiet when it came to Obama's Presidentency .

What are the odds that Obama gives Trump the same consideration during Trump's administration?

Does anyone think that Obama will keep quiet for even Trump's first 100 days?  How about the first 100 hours?

Gonna be a whole lotta "you miss me yet?" memes over the next 4 years.  

I hope he picks up a painting hobby like his predecessor but I have a feeling there will be a lot more for Obama to speak up about than there was for GWB to speak up about.  

 
Right now the stock market is bullish on Trump since elected.  If he can help the economy at all and hopefully avoid terror attacks there will not be much to say because people will be happy. Talk about the wall,  and deportation all you want but all people really care about first and foremost are jobs and the economy...even the illegals.

I think there is/was an unwritten rule/understanding that ex presidents don't express opinions about the subsequent presidents. Jimmy Carter spoke out quite a bit on "W". Obama has said previously he will become a political activist post presidency. And he just blamed Bush the first 6 years. Recently he said he will speak out against Trump depending on Trump's actual policies. I think the Bushes have also entered into the mix a little indicating they wouldn't vote for trump but not actually commenting on policy...yet.

 
I'd like to see him retire and live life.  I think though, that he's got a little bit more left in him.  I don't know if he'll openly oppose or critic Trump......but I do think that he'll be the figurehead behind a "permantly get out the vote" movement for Democrats.  He's young enough and popular enough to be relevant for a long time.

Bushes are the ones that should be planning the downfall of Trump.  He made them look like damned fools. 

 
If Obama is at the helm during the start of another "great recession" that almost collapses the world's financial system, then he probably won't say #### either. 

 
I believe Obama when he says that he will only speak out if Trump threatens our American "value and ideals," which I imagine would be Trump proposing to do something blatantly unconstitutional.  So...probably first 100 days?

Under normal circumstances, I think former presidents should do what the Bushes did and stay out of things.  This isn't a normal circumstance.  I would welcome Obama doing whatever he reasonably can to push back against Trump.  Not on policy-related matters, where reasonable folks can disagree, but on sanity-related matters.

Agreed.  I can already see him doing blatantly unconstitutional #### like recess appointments to the NLRB (when there is no recess) or using Executive Actions on Immigration or illegally funding Obamacare.  Yeah, I would definitely speak up if that #### happened.

I'm not so sure the so-called "constitutional scholar" who constantly violated the Constitution like it was a hooker on prom night really has any standing at all to point fingers.  He should probably just shut up and go away quietly into the night, never to be heard from again.  Like Hillary.

Start a foundation, highly paid speaking tour with Wall Street firms, help the misses run for the senate, and then a possible run for the White House... rinse and repeat.  The only thing standing in her way is Chelsea.

Probably first week no matter what Trump does.  It's how Obama works.  Will be nothing like W was and step out of the way.  Barrack will fight things every step outside of the game.

People believe this way when they want to believe this way.  If it's something they disagree with,  then it's "not normal circumstances"  and they think the former president should speak out.  Is this that hard for people to recognize?  Really don't see that?  Sheesh

 
It might go like this:

1. Obama sees he that he has high approval ratings after leaving office, so he feels confident he can speak out about Trump.

2.  After doing it several times, people start getting annoyed.   The internet starts making memes calling him a backseat driver.

3.  Republicans counter by saying he cares more about the job as ex-president than when he was president for 8 years, and that its easy to criticize once you cannot do anything anymore.

4.  Finally he goes away.

 
Honestly from what I've heard, he really lost the passion for the job.  I think he might take a couple of shots but probably prefers to step out of the spotlight.  Having every detail of your life scrutinized for 8 years takes a toll.  I don't think he wants to get back in the ring.

 
He will be annoying from day 1 as Trump removes his programs that don't work as he wants to protect his "legacy" of unaffordable health care and printing  $ so someone else can clean up the mess.

He's said he's going to help bring the democratic party together.

 
Like most things in his Presidency, he'll pick whatever will annoy me the most.  Which means he'll probably become leader of the UN or something.  Go smoke and play golf you greasy poo

Can a former President be a senator? I honestly don't know.  I know he could be on the Supreme Court,  don't know about an elected position. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be allowed to be in the line of succession. 

That would be awesome, though. 

ETA : a quick Google tells me that yes,  he could be a Senator again if he chose to run. I'd love to see that.

Speaker of the House would be great. Trump would love him standing over his shoulder at the state of the union address.

 
Yeah, I posted an article shortly after the election suggesting that Obama run for the House of Representatives in 2018 and that the Dems build their whole national strategy on flipping the House so he could be Speaker.  Never gonna happen but a pretty cool idea.

 
He will be living down the street from Trump's daughter & Hillary will be watching Donald from her post as Mayor of NYC.
