Obama's True Legacy: 95 Million Americans NOT in Labor Force. Up 18% since he took office. (1 Viewer)

Is there any particular reason we should focus on that one particular subgroup (men 25-54)?  How does the labor participation rate among women compare to the 1970s?
Hang on, I've hacked MOP's Facebook, and am scrolling his timeline now. I think I saw something about it on a Gene Wilder Wonka photo.

Millennials don't need an opportunity, they are already entitled to it.  You are a facist if you do not agree, nor see things in their light.  Time to get with the program everyone.

This is what I'm talking about.  I don't think you guys even realize you're doing it anymore.  I'm just returning to the forum after a 7 month absence and it's amazing how bad this place has gotten.
//thanks for the update//

Another worrisome part of Obama's legacy is that under his Presidency, MOP posted about 30000 times at FBG.

All this info came from this site that was brought up in one of the other threads about this. Link
I can't read all that. Looks like spinster fluff. I deal in real world down here on the ground, blue belt errrr collar, you know what I mean.

Why are so many people claiming they can't find work then? Why are so many giving up? Why are so many still on welfare if there is a plethora of jobs? That last question more important than the others to me.

Pretty sure the millennials outnumber the baby boomers now. SS will be fine if they get jobs & move out of their parents basements soon. :pickle:

This is truly what I will remember the most along with doubling or tripling most working folks health insurance costs, a slap in the face if there ever was one.

And the Left can continue the Trump witch hunt but until you swallow this thread title you will never understand what happened.

Why people could turn a blind eye...money of course.
Huh?

And you and your wife are "most working folks"?
Middle class white folks, pretty common. Everyone in our circles felt it. My Mother in law initially was using Obamacare and we were trying to warm up to it but then she started to actually use it, suddenly her care changed and coverage and the costs skyrocketed, that woman makes 10k a year, she is poor! So when she dropped it and others we saw do the same, others who paid like we did were furious of experiencing rising costs, just too much and so yeah. I don't know anyone who has a middle class job who didn't see costs go up lately.

Maybe what you meant to say is most working folks in your circles then.

health insurance rates have been going up for many years. wages simply haven't kept up been able to keep up with the costs. I'd agree that a critique for Obama on those terms is fair. that said, in the economic climate we have lived in, that's to be expected. i saw something in the news, however, real wage growth is finally happening. corrections to ACA were inevitable but that shouldn't scuttle the program itself.

I'm not an Obama guy. That being said, I've never had trouble finding a job. Also, like many of you, head hunters have come looking for me. Perhaps I'm just brilliant and desirable? This is probably a hyper bowl, but nearly everyone in my life that cant find a job....well, lets just say, I'm not surprised. I can't imagine blaming the President of the United States for me not having a job.
Yep,  it's called self initiative & a desire to get ahead.

I don't know - can the libs in here get your emotions in check and stop calling Trump supports stupid, racist and uninformed?  It's pretty rampant.  You can't even have reasoned discussions anymore.
It's called the last line of defense.

You may need to unpack that a bit.  What sort of jobs?  What do they pay?  If I lost my job today I could go out and get plenty of jobs, but do I want to do any of them?  Hell No, because the pay is not there and the jobs are mostly #### jobs.  There are places near me (mostly factories) that are hiring and they pay $10-$12/hour and even some that pay minimum ####### wage.  Sorry, but Im not even getting out of bed for any of those jobs, not with those wages. Im just not, ever.  Granted Im in my 50's so maybe a different story if Im a young guy, but at my age, no ####### way.

This nonsense was debunked in the other thread, yet you keep bringing it up.  You a clone of Adonis?  The price increases under the Unaffordable Care Act have dwarfed anything that was going on pre-UCA.

of course not at your age.  fencing, shoveling snow for $.50 a driveway, digging a ditch for 4 months with a shovel & jack hammer, construction since I was 17.  All I know from the previous is swallow your pride & work.      And THEN work some more.    money==freedom

Kinda the point but does that excuse someone from taking the job vs govt hand out?

So, how exactly does one choose to stop looking for work and still get enough money to live a happy, healthy life?

And where do I sign up?

New Yorkers are really better at it than I am so maybe we should ask them.
I would hope that, as you started this thread, you would have a firm understanding of the subject matter.

While I am being cheeky to a degree, I am legitimately curious as to how people, of whom it is implied were previously looking for work, can afford to simply stop looking and still manage to keep a roof over their heads, food the table and utilities running?

How does that happen?

38 year low. I see help wanted signs but they don't seem to be places most folks in here would want to work. So why would anyone want to get off the couch for 10 bucks an hour when they can sit home? It might even cost them money to go to work.

Sit at home and watch others work, that's the American Way!
HEY, Obama's a great President!!

And what if there was no government assistance to fall back on?

no welfare, no WIC no SNAP, no county health dept...etc

you'd just starve?

History will go down as a subpar domestic policy president, mostly due to failure of ACA.

Foreign policy will be graded as par for the course.
