offensive line ratings (1 Viewer)

I used to take sacks allowed and rushing yards and give a team a score opposite their rank. IE 1st gets 32 2nd gets 31 etc. Understanding it's pretty hard to rank em', I always thought that worked out pretty well.

not til preseason though right?I was thinking Chris Smith did it back then.

"Garbageboy" PM Chris Smith see if he doesn't have something kicking around on his computer

I did breakdown all thirty-two of the offensive lines back in May of 2005. I will be doing so again this year but attacking it a little differently, analyzing and comparing them seperately in both run blocking and pass blocking ability.

Here is the link to the article.

No, but such a list wouldn't mean a lot right now anyway. Wait until early summer after the draft and free agency to get serious about finding that data.

USA Today had a good feature on this before the start of the season, they ranked each O-lineman in 8 different categories and gave a cumulative grade.

Interesting to see that the Broncos don't have any guards or tackles that rank in the top 25 at their position in the NFL. :loco:

Ya, and you had the Seahawks at #13. :lmao: Top Rusher and 3 of their O-lineman (Hutch, Jones, Tobeck) going to Hawaii.

I told you before the season and I will tell you again.....best O-line in the NFL.

:goodposting: What he said. On top of that, Hutch and Jones were both voted all pro. Best at their position league-wide. I'll even go so far as to say that Jones deserves to be mentioned in any conversation of best player int he game at any position.

Friday, nice avatar. I keep watching the last 5 minutes of the game and the post game (skipping through the AWFUL Bradshaw interviews). I tear up a little easch time!

Tough area to "rate". I guess sacks allowed and yards per carry would be a decent indicator without breaking down the film.

We need new stats for this. How aboutAYDFBRBIT - Average yards downfield before running back is touched.

Is SEA better than KC?
As a Seattle homer, I would like to say yes, but I think that's too much of a stretch. Let's just say that the Seattle line is one of the best. Further, they spent their first round pick last season on a center that should be a long term contributor (Spencer). Nice convenience to have your first round pick sit for a year and learn. Further it speaks to the quality of the line right now that their first round pick never came close to breaking into the starting unit.
