***Official '16-'17 NHL Season Discussion Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Team USA would have probably had their best Olympic roster ever too.

Patrick Kane, Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, Phil Kessel, Joe Pavelski, Blake Wheeler, T.J. Oshie, Max Pacioretty, Cam Atkinson all having strong seasons.

6 of top-20 point scorers in the league right now are American, plus Eichel is top-10 in points/game.

solid depth on D with Suter, Shattenkirk, McDonagh, Carlson, J.Faulk, Fowler, Byfuglien, Werenski, S.Jones, etc.

maybe not as strong in goal as they used to be, but Quick, Bishop, Anderson, Gibson all capable.

Faulk is great on O and okay on D but Pesce and Slavin at plus 20 and 23 as partners playing against top lines with Cam and Lack in goal is extremely impressive.

no doubt. Slavin having a breakout year. I'm just a huge Faulk fan. Hanifin seems to be playing better of late as well. That team just needs a goalie.

God Marchand is such a piece of ####. Just stuck his stick right up Dotchin's ****.

Yes, Marchand has to be smarter than that and he deserves whatever suspension he gets. Idiotic thing to do at this time of year. But Dotchinn appears to be taking some liberties out in front. Not that he deserved to take a harpoon to the nuggets. But even Dominic Moore was angry about something Dotchin did toward the end of the second right in front of us.

D man taking liberties in front? that happens in literally every NHL game. spearing happens less than 5 times all season. it's a POS move no matter how you slice it

Yep. And the worst part of it is that he seems to take these stupid penalties at the worst possible times. Don't forget he got himself suspended for the Winter Classic. You would think that would have registered with him, but maybe he just gets himself too amped when the stakes get higher.

Regardless, he needs to tone it down. I would suspect he sits the last two games. Don't know if the NHL whacks him for a playoff game too, but if that's what it takes to drive the point home to stop being so reckless and selfish, then so be it.

Hawks are 3-5 in the last 8 with a 7-0 loss to the Panthers and 51 shots to Colorado mixed in there.  lucky Nashville, they're getting about as close to a bye in the first round as you can get.  looks like the Central division winner will be one and done for the third time in four years.
