***OFFICIAL 2009 NFL DRAFT*** (3 Viewers)

I'm going to go on record right now and predict that the Lions will exercise the first pick and select Matthew Stafford, QB out of Georgia. I'd be willing to bet a fairly significant amount of money on it with anyone who doubts me.

I'm going to guess the Lions sign him for about $78 million over 6 years including $41.7 million guaranteed.

It's gonna take about 27 sleeping pills for me to get some shut eye tonight.

Offensive & defensive line help PLEASE.......

I would love to see the Rams trade back in the draft and still end up with either Andre Smith (who I still think is the best Olineman int his draft) or Oher who isn't far behind and pick up some nice picks in the process plus save a crap load of $$$.

Barring that happening, I wonder if the Rams couldn't get their guy signed before the draft. They will ahve had about 12 hours to get it done. Why not?The parameters are in palce, years and guaranteed money. Why not try and get a deal done?Especially if you know as Smith or Monroe's agent (Heck, or Sanchez), that if you don't take the money, you will fall to 4, or 6.

Michael A. Smith appears to have stolen David Byrne's suit from the Stop Making Sense tour. let's get a tailor to take that in, buddy.

Here's hoping the BPA is an on the O-line or D-line when the Steelers Pick. No reaching for the next Troy Edwards fellas!

The Steelers definitely need OL help. Although every year I hope for some help at corner help. Still not sold on our current crop. But OL is #1 priority for me.

For some reason, the NFL Network had a podium cam. 2 hours before the draft :goodposting:

If all the top tier OL are gone by 32, I don't know why we would reach...I say let's get the best available player at that point.

Amazing stat they just mentioned...the Lions haven't had a pro bowl QB since 1971!!! Think about that for a moment- it boggles the mind.

Eugene Monroe looks like he's 28.

Not Monroe- whoever it was they showed before Monroe...

ETA- Jason Smith, I think...

In a QB weak draft and the first 2 picks turn out to be QB, what a bunch of BS. Talk about dumbarses.

ETA: So the world is back to normal as Sanchez doesn't go #2.

I doubt we see a $100 million rookie anytime soon, I think the NFL is going to overhaul this whole process, they have to, nobody even wants the top picks anymore, its a bad system and needs to be taken care of.

Whew ! Jason Smith !

Good call, let Sjax run wild..

Tyson Jackson the concensus pick to KC unless they trade down. Came out of now where to the top of the draft.
