Did I miss Duke Robinson pick?
I think once scouts were able to break down Oklahoma games, they realized that Robinson does not have much pro potential. Still, I expect him to be gone in the 5th or 6th.
ESPN still has him 2nd best GuardBloom liked him IIRC
To each their own, here is my write up from the Oklahoma - Cincy Game"Widely considered to be the best guard prospect by a large margin. I will need to watch several more games, because I did not see much to be excited about regarding Robinson. I did find it odd that he was substituted for on a couple of early series (not consecutive) by Brian Simmons. Robinson is big, and if he gets his hands on you, you are not getting away. He can knock you down to the ground with his great strength. He looked extremely slow when asked to pull, and often times could not get to his target on the 2nd level in time due to his very slow game speed. He looked gassed after any series that lasted more than 3 plays. Like Loadholt, often saw him standing around instead of seeking out a defender. He did not even look like a top 5 guard in this game"
Did he look unmotivated to you? This sounds like as much a gripe against Stoops as Robinson. Would you figure a good NFL HC or OL coach could fix this "drive" or motivation or do you really think he's snail slow?

Snail slow. I think a good O Line coach would get on him when watching film about being aggressive at the 2nd level. (I.e. just find somebody to hit, and get out of the hole). But Robinson is very limited athletically and I think he is going to get destroyed in the pros. If you ask him to block straight ahead, one on one blocking, he is a beast. But that never happens in the pros, with all the slanting and stunting that goes on. With Loadholt, I saw sloppy technique, but there is potential. He has a long wingspan and showed glimpses of his potential. With the right O Line coach, he can become a starter. Robinson, not so much.

Levy says the Lions talked to him about playing in the middle.

DeAndre Levy said Lions talked to him about playing MLB

DeAndre Levy, the Detroit Lions' third-round pick, played outside linebacker at Wisconsin but said the Lions coaches talked to him about playing in the middle in Detroit. Levy said the coaches told him a final decision on that possible move had yet to be made.

While the Lions already have starters on the outside in Ernie Sims and Julian Peterson, they have a glaring hole at middle linebacker.

Levy said the Lions also called him to Detroit for a late visit on April 17, the final day that players can visit teams. Levy said he believed that Detroit's late interest meant they were interested in him.
Wasn't Tulloch or Fowler an OLB?
I don't believe Tulloch was, unsure about Fowler.

The left side of OU's OL was overrated. Those two were exposed by Texas and Florida. 5 years from now I wouldn't be surprised to see Brandon Walker & Trent Williams having better NFL careers.

Very nice pick for the Bills. Nelson will be a good target and this was a nice spot to get him. Edwards owners should be pleased.

Not much time left but I'll be surprised if Walker isn't a Viking

Interesting spot for Goodson. Rich getting richer, a shame for his fantasy value.
When is DeAngelo's contract up? They may not be able to resign him...
Williams has two years left on his contract (this season and next). I'm sure the Panthers will try to resign him. If something were to happen to Williams or Stewart this season, the Panthers would need another RB especially since Nick Goings (who filled in at RB sometimes) was released in the offseason. Goodson is supposed to be fast, and he can compete with Robinson for returns on special teams.

Balco, don't care for Brandon Walker either?
No. I think he is also very athletically limited.
interesting, thanksI'll be curiously watching how those linemen pan out or not in the NFL Much of the press in OK is how will they(usually Bradford) do in 09 without their great OL from 2008. Yet NFL doesn't seem to think anyone is great from that line.

Shawn Nelson. Would have been happy with him or Casey here. Nice pick.
So, it looks like the Peters trade could net the Bills two starters in Wood and Nelson plus a late pick next year.
I've come around on Wood a bit since yesterday. I was kinda upset at the time given the players on the board, but I think he could be a good fit. I hope he's the next Kent Hull...
Wood's a great player.

I will be interested to see how Bradford does as well. The Sooners line was a very solid college line. There individual skills, however, do not translate to the pros.I am going to really be interested in how Beals, and Travis Lewis do. Those guys really impressed me.

Raiders draft another fast guy projected to be a UDFA.

cnnsi profile
I think Murphy was actually a good pick at this point.
:goodposting: Overshadowed by Percy Harvin, but I feel he is actually more polished as a receiver. I think he is going to be a solid complementary receiver in the pros.

Obviously the Raiders should have traded down in the 1st to nab Bey. But based on talent, I think they really improved their depleted receiving corps with the addition of Bey and Murphy. Jamarcus should have fun throwing to those two.

Collie could be an excellent slot guy; I really liked him pre-draft. In Indy, I don't know where he's going to fit right away, but that third receiver spot in Indy is completely up for grabs.

Panthers taking another RB. Must be taking lessons from Denver.
