Upgrade at FB, Peters, Stacy Andrews, Maclin

If you're complaining, you're just looking for something to complain about.

hmm.

Desean Jackson

Jeremy Maclin

Kevin Curtis

Jason Avant

Hank Baskett

Reggie Brown

seems like a lot of WRs to me... anyone think someone will get dealt?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not in love with this pick. Would have rather grabbed Pettigrew. Not pissed, but not thrilled either.

IMO the top 4 are locks to be on the 2009 roster, Baskett plays pretty well on special teams, Reggie Brown makes a lot of money for a guy that probably won't even see the field. Seems doubtful he is on the team.

It's easy to criticize the Maclin pick.

-Philly needs an RB

-Philly needs a TE

-He's not a "big" WR

etc...

Honestly, Maclin for the #21 and a 6th is GREAT value. Numerous mocks had him going top 10. Playmaker. Immediate impact on offense.

Draft for value, not need IMO. I'm ecstatic. :potkettle:

Well, It sure wasn't what I was expecting. I really would *much* rather have gotten Boldin - aside from being a proven commodity, I think he would have been able to make an immediate impact. Unfortunately, they weren't able to get it worked out... I'm really looking forward to see what Maclin can do, though. Now I'm hoping we can still land a RB - maybe Peerman?

Peerman would be a nice pick up :lmao:

Gotta agree!! Great value at a price to make a thief proud!! I don't know if he will be an immediate impact because the Philly Offense is a complicated adjustment. They "limited" the playbook for Jackson last year, but he responded so well they thought they could do it again. Taking a RB here would be a reach (D Brown or C Wells). Moreno was a nice possibility, but I don't see the others fitting Philly offense. The report of Wells Pro-Day make me 2nd guess that, but I did not see him catching much at OSU. FWIW, Maclin was considered #2 choice by SF at #10 & Oak at #7. Getting him at #19 is SOD IMO!

Living in Big 12 country I saw A LOT of Maclin and did not want to see him go to Philly. He is going to give Dallas fits

Closing in on the Iggles 2nd rounder. Who do we like here? McCoy or Greene at RB? Cook at TE? Everett Brown at DE is a great value.

Thought it might be Brown but he just went. Personally I'm not a big fan of Greene, McCoy seems real possible here. Tough imagining the Eagles going WR-RB with their first two picks tho, we'll see!

While I like Cook (Being a Gamecock!!), I think they might find better value on Defense. Besides Cook might be there at #85 (3.21)

Not a true need, but I wouldn't mind Unger © here one bit. I like McCoy more than most, and would be content with that selection also. Connor Barwin worth a look at DE.

these ashholes ####ed up. move up in the draft to grab pettigrew? no. macklin. fail.

no more RBs left. no chance of anquan now that they took a WR. thoughts of getting a stud RB and Anquan.... out, thoughts of getting braylon and a decent RB...out. I didnt even want pettigrew, but Macklin!?!? ####in angry.

considering your fantasy teams suck, if you dont like the Eagles draft, that may be a positivePlus, the Eagles took Maclin, not MacklinAnd how do you know what trades the Eagles could have made.. you don't. if Az insisted on a 1st, we'd still be in the same boat, with pick 21 in the 2nd round and many big name RBs off the board.how could we gety Moreno if he went 10 picks ahead of us?Wells isnt a Reid type RBso big deal we lost Donald Brown. who the heck is he? Before the college season ended nobody heard of him.

You don't understand football do you? You draft for value.... The value they got there is incredible... .. I think If Knowshon was there they took him at 21, but when he went, they just went for value. When he was there still at 19 they went and got him.. Good move IMO

yeah i spelled his name wrong. lo siento. but if they insisted on a first (which I dont beleive) we'd be facing pick 21, with boldin. I'd be happy.

Congrats Eagle fans...Maclin at that spot is a steal and a perfect fit for you team. I would have been 10 times more excited to have Maclin then Heward Bre at #7. Time to get back to my drining and forgetting the last two picks from the Raide...... Al Davis.

maybe I dont. I've only watched for 10 yrs or so, I know there 30+ peeps here. I guess I was totally convinced by radio/tv/DH that they were going to get Anquan. I know its ridiculous value. I just had Knowshon, Anquan in my mind.Ive also been drinking all day. a lot after the flyers lost.

McCoy has hands. And wiggle. He replaces Bucks production and brings much more in the way of upside. I wanted Knowshon (and I think the Eagles did too), but Maclin and McCoy represent an immediate infusion of offensive talent. Even better, IMO the talent they added fits the system.

Addressing needs with talent, both in FA and the draft. This has been a stellar offseason.

Look at the Eagles potential offense:

QB: McNabb

RB: McCoy

LT:Peters

LG:Herremans

C:Up for grabs (I like the depth)

RG:Andrews

RT:Andrews

WR: Jackson

Slot: Curtis

Slot:Westbrook

WR: Maclin

I will elaborate.

First, Maclin was asked about his lack of experience outside and he said that he was just playing what he was a martyr to playcalling. That is, if given the chance to be a #1 he could suceed. Look at Steve Smith. He is the same type of player and plays as a #1.

Second, this Line-up is ridiculous. It is like YAC heaven. The offense is definitely carrying this team this year. I cannot complain about this draft or offseason At ALL.

1. Jason Peters

1A. Harvin

2. McCoy

3. Scheffler trade (please)

4-7 depth on defense

I'd be thrilled with the value / positions. Just uncertain on Harvin and McCoy. Time will tell, but they did address need, value and BPA in Rounds 1 and 2.
