Another point I'll add about skipping Luck to take the "best" OL prospect later is that you need to take a good, hard look at Arizona and tell me what that pretty decent OL does with a bunch of numbskulls at QB. Nothing. They can't get out of their own way with monogoloids at QB.
So what's your plan when Romo starts tailing off in a couple years? You want to run Derek Anderson out there? Give me Andrew Luck.
Who is to say Andrew Luck turns out any better then Leinart. There's your Arizona comparison. Leinart sat behind Warner and still sucks.Drafting Luck now, would be stupid. You're paying two QBs big money, and you're trotting them out behind a poor OL.
Drafting for need is only bad when you reach to fill the need, which is why I said trade down. And why are we talking about trading down with Buf, Det, or Carolina? What about Cleveland? Or Oakland? Or Washington? Or a bunch of other team's that, despite doing decently this year, still need a QB?
If they trade down to even middle of the first, and can pick up an extra pick or two, they can still draft BPA, but have a better chance at BPA being a need, and not reaching to fill it.
