Regardless, Dallas should trade out of the top pick and drop 15 spots because they need a mediocre RT.

I really wish everyone would stop with the Tashard Choice love. I dont care what running back you bring in, no one is going to be succesful until the o-line is fixed. Perfect example is last night on 3rd and 1, Barber runs to the right and is hit by Clay Matthews (who is untouched) one yard behind the line of scrimmage. No running back is escaping an All-Pro LB who has a clear shot before even taking 2 steps forward.

As he's installed his own offense, they've gotten worse and worse. They were #4 in points, and #5 in yards the seaosn prior (2006), so it's not like he improved them dramatically. On the other hand, they've declined since he's been there, to #18, #14, and this year #19 in points, and #13, #2, and this year #10 in yards.

In '07 Sparano was still in Dallas as the OL coach and Asst. HC. He had much more to do with the team's success offensively in '07 than Garrett IMO.

Garrett reminds me of Mike Martz, in that he is too infatuated with throwing the ball all over the place, and tries to be too clever with his play-calling, so he will look smart, rather than calling "boring" plays (see: a lot of runs) that actually work.

Did you also consider that Tony Sparano was the OL coach and Asst HC in '07, and may be much more responsible for the offensive showing than Garrett, considering the O has been in a tailspin since Sparano left? Maybe Garrett's not the genius everyone thinks.

Up until this year, there really was no decline in the offensive line.2007: 25 sacks given up, 4.2 yards per carry

2008: 31 sacks given up, 4.3 yards per carry

2009: 34 sacks given up, 4.8 yards per carry

The sack numbers were going up slowly but were not outrageous, and the yards per carry was tremendous in 2009. The problem was that going into

2010 was you had 4 starters on the line who were turning 32. What was once a healthy line, got banged up and slow pretty quickly.

Well, that was the rumor all along during the whole Wade hiring fiasco to begin with. It's too far in the past to ever know for sure how all that really went down.

I could see them taking Luck if the new barganing agreement makes it so they could sign him to a cap friendly contract. I just don't think it'd be the smart thing to do.

G Logan Mankins should be a FA and if the changes the Giants made in their line this past week stay, G/C Seubert should be a FA. Seubert is a good player and versatile. He would just cost too much for the Giants to keep him as a back up.

To get Bennett more involved? Bennett seems to "care" more than Witten does right now. Plus, Witten seems like he's dropped more balls this year than normal, but I don't have numbers to that effect, just from observation. I would agree it's not one of the spots that needs addressing, and I'm not saying they should make a change.

I think witten was only targeted 4 times last night and caught all 4 balls. And he had huge games with kitna against both th giants and jags.

Jones said 2 days ago that Wade Phillips was coaching the rest of the season. You can forget what he said 2 years ago in a meeting, Garrett's been paid well for his services so if he doesn't get the job, he shouldn't hang is head too long.I'm going to observe Garrett in this role before I judge him. As far as any gaurantees from the past, I think all that crap is out the window. The Cowboys are 1-6 and will finish close to the bottom of the league during a year where many had them being super bowl contenders. He's part to blame for this ridiculous mess as well as far as I'm concerned. We'll see how it goes.

I cannot believe someone would ever in a million years consider benching Witten for Bennet. Bennet is a lazy waste of space who gets by on pure talent alone and doesnt work hard at all. Ridiculous. Makes me wonder if you are actually watching games.

The only person who needed to be fired last night was the general manager of this team. I seriously doubt it was Wade Phillips who asked to draft the over rated Felix Jones or Dez Bryant. I understand that Dez Bryant is a stud but what does that get you if the offensive line cant protect the QB long enough to get him the ball and the secondary cant stop anyone? I would be willing to bet if it were up to Wade he would have drafted all defense, every draft.

This team will be no better next week. The offensive line will get man handled by the Giants and Eli will pick apart this horrible secondary. Scandrick is awful. Absolutely awful. He needs to be benched. He just isnt an NFL CB. Jenkins is a great corner but he takes too many chances and goes for the INT instead of making the play 90% of the time. Newman is a solid #2 CB but he is no longer elite. There needs to be a really good safety back there that can cover for mistakes by these two guys. Release Sensabaugh. He is a waste. Let Church and Ball play back there for the rest of the season. Then we will know what we need.

Release that lazy ### Leonard Davis. Flat out release him. He is lazy and he is done. Give the young guys a chance for the rest of the season.

I can't blame the running game on Garrett or any of the three RB. No one could run with any success when they are getting tackled five yards behind the LOS. Barber never had a chance for any success. The playcalling needs to change too. Why is Barber doing sweep plays and Felix doing off guard runs? Really?

A serious but nightmarish prediction for Cowboys fans: I'm not predicting he'll be hired, but I'd bet money that one interviewee this offseason will be . . . Norv Turner.

Why? First, I'm pretty confident he'll be fired by the Chargers. Second, he's one of the relatively few coaches who run the Coryell/Zampese offense that Romo has operated in his entire career, which means that there will be less transition that will need to occur. Third, he has Dallas roots. And of course fourth, he's docile enough for Jerry to think he can control him.

Norv would of course be Wade II as a head coach, but he'd be a great hire as an OC.
