Only 4 of our sacks have been in the 4th quarter.
I heard the same thing and it didn't make any sense to me why they would hype that stat all show.#1 in NFL in stats @ 15 stats for the season. 1/4 of 15 is 3.75. 4 sacks in the 4th quarter is not low.Buffalo has 4 sacks for the year. All 4 quarters put together.

It amazes me how we talk about great coaches are adaptable and adjust on the fly. I am frankly shocked that as bad as we have been hit in the mouth by the run, that we haven't adjusted our defensive schema. Maybe the wide-9 is a good play with the right personnel, but I don't think we have the right personnel to run it. We have probably the best secondary in the league with Nnamdi, Asante, and Dominic, yet we really don't put the pressure on them to do more man-on-man. I would think we should adjust our defensive schema to match the skills of our players. Now I'm no Defensive Coordinator, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

question is when will we see them do something about it? 3 straight losses and we are still waiting to hear what the plan is. all we hear is we have to do things 'better' and old andy accepting responsibility. Bunch of BS, I want to hear what they are going to do differently cause right now they are getting punched in the face and they don't even know how to get their hand up.If aren't going to sniff the playoffs, I would rather us lose every game, get that high draft pick and then force a change in the coaching staff. if they scrape together a nice run now, we will probably be a wild card road team and get squashed in round 1 by some team that can run the ball and play defense. not a good situation fo sure. :yucky:

Silly, there's a plan. Its Andy's responsibility and he's going to get this thing fixed. He's just not going to tell us because he's only going to tell us what he wants to tell us. At least that's what he told us. :loco:

I suppose I should have said seen a new plan.

Dont you think they should have tinkered with some things after Mike turner ran all over them? Or maybe after SJAX on the first play of the year ran all over them? Or maybe when NYG did whatever they wanted? I have always liked Reid, but I am starting to get tired of this game. Feels like you are stuck in a never ending loop of the same probs... Jim Johnson was such a big part of this team/defense and it has been just a shade of what it once was. Really crazy to think how one person meant so much to the D

Sal Pal brought this up with Mike Miss this afternoon...What bothered him more then Gore's comments (5 days after the game) was the players' reluctance to dispute it. He asked some players today to comment on it and they shrugged it off. He fully expected them to get a little mad and show some fire but nothing.

I really worry they are quitting. First we hear players after 2 losses (Giants and SF) say they thought the other team wanted it more. Then we hear about the half time attitude this past week; we see they can not tackle anyone and now Gore's comments. If they have any pride, they have to "grow a pair" this week and show some fire. And a win would do a lot of good as well.

The very sad part is that after all of the purging we did there is simply no leader on D. NONE.

With so many players with 1 year contracts, you'd expect them to play harder. But if the losses keep coming, they may become more concerned with staying healthy and ease up on their effort to avoid injury.

:bag: Can't call it all on Vick... Our defense is porous and we can't hold onto the ball.... Never thought it would be Avant though.

I'm not any kind of football expert but can someone confirm for me that when the offensive players can't hang onto the ball and the D can't tackle, doesn't that come down to coaching? This kind of stuff doesn't seem to happen to teams like the Steelers and Patriots.

They are NFL pros. You don't come to the NFL to learn to tackle or the correct way to hold a football. The wide 9 looks to be extremely effective, they just don't have the LB and S personnel to run it at the moment. They will have to fix that in the next offseason or change the scheme.

Fire Andy Reid Tonight. It's time. He's lost the team, he has no answers, and he refuses to improve on the things he does poorly. It's time for the Deoccupy the Linc movement. Fans should leave the stands empty during home games. It would only take a few weeks and our long, Super Bowl less nightmare could end.

What happened to this team? 1-7 in their last 8 games. And that one win was against possibly the worst team in the league.

I honestly don't think Vick even had a bad game. ONly one pick was arguably his fault. Vick is the reason the Eagles were even that close.

:goodposting: Receivers were kickin balls in the air which were intercepted. Definitely not on Vick. His running skills made the game close.

The coach I think needs to be fired is Castillo, but the D did actually start playing fairly well for him at the end. Had Parker not jumped off sides, we would have likely gotten the ball back and actually had a shot to tie the game. Of course, we wouldn't have been in that position if the D hadn't played so pathetically until the very end. I don't think that should save his job as DC, but honestly who could we bring in at this point that could turn it around in a week?Reid appears to have killed any shot that this team had when he decided to promote JC - clearly, the man is in over his head. I have never been as disgusted by an Eagles Defense as I have been so far this year. Teaching "fundamentals" was supposed to be Juan's strong suit, yet that's their biggest problem - they often can't tackle, can't shed blocks, are out of position and over pursue. I hate that Reid did this to a team with the talent that this one had with his total arrogance :boxing:

The 2 bolded lines are exactly why this falls on AR. I know the players have to play. I get that. But this is all AR's team. His players, his coaches, his decisions. Last year they cleaned house on the defensive side (they were all his coaches) and now the replacements suck even more. His unwillingness to bring in a young DC (wasn't there a guy from Pittsburgh who was practically throwing himself at Reid?) and go with a guy who has never called an NFL or college play from either side of the ball was inexcusable. And at what point do the players realize this guy has zero experience with turning this around? How can he sell them on believing in his system?? Its not even his system!

The funny thing is that if we win next week, we will only be one (maybe 2 - if NYG wins next wk) game back from the division leader. NFC East is having trouble this year and could still be anyones.

Just pointing out that we haven't been getting beaten by schlubs. 49ers and Bills are both MUCH better than expected. Falcons are still a good team with losses to very good teams, and the Giants are a divisional rival with some talent of their own.I'm not happy by any stretch with this start by Philly, but before the season I would have been happy with a 3 - 2 start with so many new parts on defense. I'm not so sure that the Eagles, as bad as they've played to this point, can't turn this around. If a turnaround is going to happen though....next week is a must win against the Redskins.

Not schlubs, but so far we've beaten possibly the worst team in the NFL, lost to another underachieving team, lost to a division opponent (at home) which we had beaten 6? straight times, and 2 upstart teams. At this point in AR's tenure, we should not be blowing the leads we have and losing (at home) to the 49ers who happen to have a rookie HC. Not if you're a true Super Bowl contender - which this team clearly is not. There's no sugar coating how bad this team has played with no indication they can turn it around.

While losing out may be better for us long term (not sure it will be good for the confidence), I don't think I can handle losing much more this season. I agree maybe we should adjust our defense and I think after our washington game would be a good time. We have 14 days off to make some more significant adjustments. Reid is unreal after the bye. If we can go in at 2-4, come out and beat Dallas, we will shockingly be in okay shape to possibly win the div at 3-4. After week 7, Wash will be at 3 (maybe 4) wins, Dallas likely at 3, Giants at 3 (maybe 4). This week is huge.

I have low expectations from this point forward. With our defense, if they keep the game close I will be surprised

What a weekend. First Phils than Eagles. I've watched 2 regular season hockey games for the first time in about 4 years. Go Flyers. The Eagles have made me apathetic towards them. My friends and I had more fun making sarcastic comments and deciding how we would lose the game instead of rooting for a win yesterday. How did it come to this? I'm done with Andy. He's been the coach since I was a junior in High school. It's time for some new blood.

This team is not winning the division, they are too fundamentally ######ed. They are inept, unmotivated, and just down right don't give a *choose your expletive*. I'm astounded how bad this team is, just laughable. And Reid almost walking off from the press conference and telling the guys to get with it, MAYBE YOU NEED TO GET WITH IT!!! Sadly they probably will win enough games to probably save Reid's job for another year but I am quickly getting to the point where I hope to see them keep losing so they can finally send Reid packing. I'm done, it's been 12 years, it isn't going to happen with this guy.

I know this is an eagles thread, but man what happened to the phillies? no offense at all. not one run?Ryan howard is getting worse every year and cannot hit playoff pitching. bad investment to keep him around for so long. Now hes hurt on top of that. yuck :X
