Been having internet connectivity issues since mid-December...
Someone upthread said 'surreal'. Perfect way to describe it. Cripes, I've been negative and pessimistic since Snyder bought the team, and infected it with his personal brand of BS...I keep on wanting to post, but I just can't seem to find the neural path from brain to fingers.
Griff is absolutely unreal. Morris is relentless. The O-Line is doing more with less than I ever thought would be possible. Garcon is better than I thought he'd be, and as a result, Santana Moss is finally working against more favorable coverages (I've always considered him miscast as a #1)...Offense is chugging right along, even with an unspectacular TE, which I felt was an absolutely key piece. Defense went into the Season down THREE projected starters in the backfield (Jackson, Meriwether and Griffin), and shortly thereafter lost 2 more key pieces (Orakpo and Carriker), and has continued to find a way, despite what seemed to be an incompetent Haslett. London Fletcher defies explanation. DeAngelo Hall is playing better football than I ever thought him capable of. Sav Rocca doesn't disappoint, and Kai Forbath's success has just left me speechless.
I'm stunned, astounded, lost for words. It's weird to be happy, but happy I am...
Just heard Cedric Griffin is due back this week. That's like a cherry on top. Well, at least sprinkles.
Well, in this Season of unexpected bliss, it's almost fitting that we play the Seahawks in...
...our first Home Playoff Game since...January 8, 2000? My God, has it really been THAT log?
The last one prior to that was a Conference Championship Game, January 12, 1992?
Ugh.
Back to the Seahawks. A fitting oppponent, seeing how they ousted us in '05-'06 and '07-'08, both at their place out west. If we're really in the business of exorcising ghosts of season's past, it would be almost poetic to serve them a nice drubbing on our turf.
I firmly believe that if we can accomplish that, than anything's possible.
That's all I can muster right now.
HTTR, BOTW!!!
PS: It just dawned on me that what I'm going through must be akin to what Tolkien's King Theoden must have felt like when Gandalf whacked the Sarumen out of him...I have some serious dust to shake off...
