*** Official 2013 Seattle Seahawks **** (1 Viewer)

Yay preseason...woooooooooo! :towelwave:
It's a sign of great depth. A win is a win and I would always rather win than lose. Don't hate golden Tate.
I should just end the fishing trip...but instead will point out what a sign of great depth going 4-0 in preseason is.

2008 Detroit Lions...went 4-0 in the presesaon.

Enjoy.
Again, I would rather win than lose.

Id rather my team evaluates what they have and people don't get hurt.

I don't care if GB never wins another preseason game. The final score is meaningless.

Is that why Seattle came away with no injuries while the pack had 4? It's not meaningless, always compete. Confidence is a powerful thing.

Yes...the final score had everything to do with 3 guys having hamstring injuries and another reinjuring his knee.

You got me...

Seahawks are just more physical. ^ Watch that to see.

Are the Seahawks always so chippy and undisciplined?

Is Pete Carrol ever not out on the playing field?

Seattle's Defensive Line impressed me.

I was surprised by how quickly Green Bay's starters exited the game, and by how long Seattle's remained in the game.

With Morgan Burnett injured the Packers should call Nick Collins.

Russell Wilson continues to impress me, even with a miscue or two.

I look for a brawl during the first Seattle/49ers game. The team personalities of each nearly demand nothing less.

Are the Seahawks always so chippy and undisciplined?

Yes, but the ref's are calling a little more than normal in the preseason.

Is Pete Carrol ever not out on the playing field?

He always is out on the field.
Answers in red.
One of these days the ref is going to ring him up for not staying back where he belongs. I started noticing this behavior of his two years ago and it seemed to get worse with each passing week. He is even worse than Jim Harbaugh. He needs his own "get back" coach.

BTW, were I a Seattle fan I would be very enthusiastic about the prospects of the Seahawks. Good luck to them this season.

I agree that he's out there too much, along with all coaches and players in general. The only thing in my mind that makes Harbaugh worse is that if he's out on the field he's complaining about something or yelling at the officiating. I think that rule they put in place this year was basically with Harbaugh in mind.

But yes, the only people on the field from a team should be the 11 guys playing the game.

Agreed...I get tired of the coaches out there whining constantly...Harbaugh seems to be the worst on the complaining for sure.

Not getting into barely beating blah blah blah...but Stonebruner is not even a 3rd stringer.

He is behind Finley, Quarless, and DJ Williams at least...if not behind others (Taylor, Bostic, Mulligan...though, Mulligan is more of a blocker)

You know what? You're right. I don't even want to get into it as it's trivial and not worth discussion. Post deleted.

I love it. He is into the game.

Seahawks waived TE Jameson Konz, WR Perez Ashford, LB Kyle Knox, TE Andrei Lintz, LS Kyle Nelson, DT Martin Parker, LB Craig Wilkins, and WR Brett Swain.

The Seahawks tried Konz at both tight end and defensive end, but he couldn't stick. Swain is a former Packers and 49ers retread wide receiver.
Nothing major here in the waives, but Jesse Williams was put on IR. Add into this that Cliff Avril is also dealing with a hamstring injury and the D-line that was supposed to be improved in 2013 is starting to look pretty lean and gimpy. Hopefully a more aggressive scheme comes to the table so our secondary can be more aggressive and get more turnovers.

Seattle released Mike Robinson this evening. Having a tough time swallowing this. I've got concerns about how this will fly in the locker room. Danny Kelly is guessing that they try to resign him in a few weeks after his current illness has passed at a much more friendly cap number. His $2.5 million wasn't guaranteed. Huge cap savings, but a potentially monster loss in leadership.

Im fine with it. "leadership" is overrated. DANGERuss has plenty of that to go around.

I think it speaks a bit to their plans for the future. FB is a dying position. He was only used on 31% of plays last season.

His RRR will be missed more than anything imo.

I know you are upset, but its a business and this was expected (maybe you didn't expect it, you live in LA far removed from things up here in the PNW). Bottom line is this has been expected for months, so get over it.

Clearly a fan favorite, I loved RRR.... but he's a FB. If they sign him back for less when he is healthy...cool.

He's a great dude.... but his pay wasn't justified.

@JasonLaCanfora: Hearing that the Seahawks, so deep in the secondary, will be releasing CB Antoine Winfield.
After seeing WTIII and Maxwell in particular step it up this year I feel like this is a good move. There are a lot of tough decisions that are going to be made. Im hoping Lotulelei makes the team.

I'm a complete Oregon Duck homer, but WTIII is the man. His only issue is durability. Maxwell really has stepped up his game this season, so I am fine with that move also.

Seahawk fans are going to be split on the release of MR. This is a cap saving move for sure, and I wonder how his illness played into this. He has been sick for weeks, and didn't look like he would play week one anyway. My guess is he restructures and re-signs when he is healthy.

I think that is the route they will go as well.

Who gets the carries if Marshawn misses time?
Michael.
I agree.

I think we're going to see a lot of Marshawn on 1st and 2nd down and Turbin in for 3rd down duties so people will think Turbin is 2nd on the depth chart. However, if Lynch missed time I think you'll see Michael step in for early downs instead of Turbin. Turbin can be a 3-down back in this league, just not with Michael there.

If Lynch were to go down for an extended amount of time I could see this happening, but I could also envision Turbin getting most of the carries. IMO Turbin just looks the part of a guy that can be an every down RB. This is one of those situations where I don't understand how anyone could have a strong opinion either way.

Let me get this straight so we are on the same page.... you think Turbin is better than Michael? Seems like your statement above doesn't take a stance at all.

I didn't say that at all. I'm saying that I don't know. I live in a world of nuance. I've learned that as I get older I know and understand relatively less, not more. I don't have a problem saying that I don't know. You should try it now and then.

Why is it that the most foolish and ignorant tend to be the loudest and most sure of their beliefs?

Nothing in this post changes what I wrote, other than to pile onto the reasons why. It's 2013, I don't need to be in Seattle to know what's going on. It's your reaction to the news, not the news that is tiresome and lacking in anything other than bootscraping blind myopic homerism. It's absurd.

My guess is it's a small speedbump at worst. RW and Earl lead that team.

It sucks for us that Robinson got cut, it probably sucks way worse for the guys who worked with him. But, if they don't understand that football is a business, they've got to learn sometime.

I'm just happy because Maragos made the team.

Harper is gone, thank God. I will get flamed for this again but our mid rounds picks the last two seasons have been crap.

I get that we have crazy depth, I just think it's bad business.

* Still pissed off about the 3rd round pick wasted on David Greene.

I think we did pretty well in the third round last year.

When I start to get depressed about rooting for a crappy team, I remember that you guys have ITS.

It's a similar hell.

Here comes your roster management exercise. Seattle is still looking at at least three more roster moves. Who gets cut to make room for each?

1. Another TE will be signed. Who gets cut?

2. Bruce Irvin will be back after week 4. Who gets cut?

3. Percey Harvin returns from the PUP between week 6 to 9. Who gets cut?

Extra Credit: Name 8 to put on your practice squad if they pass through waivers.

Here's my best guess:

DT Michael Brooks

TE Darren Fells

DB Winston Guy

WR Chris Harper

LB Ty Powell

DT Jaye Howard

G Rishaw Johnson

DB DeShawn Shead

Of course odds are someone that wasn't previously on the team makes their way to Seattle's practice squad. For the moment this is what we have to work with.

EDIT: It was 8, not 7 seven players on the PS.
