I'm not sure if this has been posted in the thread, but this is pretty cool. Back in August, Seahawks sign a 12 year old kid with a rare heart condition to a 5 year deal. And Pete Carroll found the time to be there in person.

So now all the talking heads this morning (Olney, Mike and Mike, FSN) has the 49ers as "the best team left standing" after their convincing win over the 8-7-1 Packers in Green Bay.
Like I've said all along, I think the 49ers are the biggest threat to the Seahawks in Seattle but I find it hilarious all these people who have forgot/overlooked the 49ers, are now calling them the best team left after they beat a pretty ####### terrible Packers team.

I was just not impressed with the playcalling or Russell Wilson today, those things need to change next week. I had thought all along that the Seahawks were saving stuff for the playoffs but we saw none of that today. Nothing against the Saints who really played a great defensive game, but if RW plays like that next week they aren't going to win. I was kind of wanting the Panthers, but eitehr of those teams beats the Seahawks we saw today.
Defense did what it always does, terrific. They had a lot of potential sacks they just overran, and they'll have to keep contain next week vs the 49ers or Panthers. Those teams don't have the offensive weapons the Saints do though, Sproles and Graham were simply non factors today. Amazing.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you on this. There was a lot of Percy-oriented stuff today that was different than they ran all year. The problem is that Bevell can't consistently call a good game without a game changer. Completely unimaginative and predictable without the Harvin plays.
Dunno what's wrong with Wilson. No help from the WRs most of the time but he's making odd decisions and missing a lot of throws.

Well yeah, but since Harvin hasn't played all year it's hard to call the different.
I can't see them playing a worse offensive game than they played today, so that's always nice I guess.

Wilson's numbers from yesterday aren't impressive, but I thought he played a good game. What were all of the odd decisions and missed throws?
He was under a lot of pressure and attempted just 18 passes, 2 of which he threw away because no one was open. He also threw a perfect pass to Harvin on the play the Saints were flagged for hitting him, and he extended another play in the red zone long enough to draw a defensive holding penalty. One of his incompletions was a throw to Harvin in the end zone after he extended another play, and that was close to a TD.
Keep in mind, the Saints had a great pass defense this season: #2 in passing yards allowed, #2 in completions allowed, #3 in passing first downs allowed, #6 in passing TDs allowed, and #4 in sacks. So Wilson was facing a great pass defense in poor weather conditions. He led his team to a 16-0 lead at halftime, and then led another scoring drive when the Saints cut that lead in half.
I saw it as a team and QB that were in command the entire game and managed the game accordingly.

I was thinking about more than just yesterday's game, however he had 3 or 4 bad throws on 3rd down slants. He didn't do anything to improve on that slump he's been in yesterday IMO. Slumps happen, I'm just curious what's keeping him from getting out of it.Just Win Baby said:

They'll have to earn it, which is fine with me. If this is truly a great team, they'll win a game vs their biggest rival at home.
I wonder about Harvin's injury, whether they just used extra caution or if he really has a concussion. I would have thought he had one after the big hit, but he left the game after his head hit the turf. Two head blows IMO are a good reason to sit a guy who hasn't played all year, so I really hope he's cleared and ready for next week. I think he's critical to the game, otherwise they need someone to step up and make some plays on the outside. I think the running game will be fine, but they desperately need the playaction game to work and hit stuff downfield.

Where to begin?
I avoided the game thread through the end of this week. Skimmed through it a few times and saw that the usual suspects were just spouting random crap trying to get someone worked up and emotional. I will never understand that. How can it be entertaining to laugh at someone thinking, "they care too much". WTF?
Watched the game with a large group of friends at our house. Wife has done a wonderful job of creating the perfect football watching room for a large group. Five large leather recliners arcing around the big screen. Second row of bar stools and tables behind those. Wonderful setup. That said, this year has been tough for me watching football. I like to rewind a lot of plays and rewatch the details. With the large crowds this year that's come to a stop. I've reluctantly appeased the emotionally charged "fan"atics.
Our crowd's mood turned ugly early in the game after the long Kaep run. I immediately took charge and made sure people realized that Wilson was under center. I believe in Russell Wilson. He's not going to win every game, but I believe he will always give us a chance. Glad to see Doug Baldwin get some recognition. I believe in Baldwin too. Still hope he's in a Seattle jersey next year. Kam delivered big time again today. So glad that Schneider has hit home runs when deciding who to extend with longer contracts. Hope that track record continues into next year.
Very bummed to see Bowman get hurt. I've finally gotten to the point where I think Bowman is the better player when compared to Willis. With some duration I think they have a chance to be in that "best set of inside LBs ever" conversation. I keep hoping that Kaep and Newton are going to mature and develop into quality NFL quarterbacks. Will they be leaders for years to come? Time will tell. Sure feels like we've entered into a potentially great era of young quarterbacks.
I'm quick to forgive just about every emotional reaction an NFL football player has after the action. I get why Sherman was all jacked up and yelled into the microphone when being interviewed. His emotions were turned up to 11 at that moment. We ask these guys to play with incredible passion and then expect them to turn that off with in seconds. That's not realistic to me.
Looking forward to the game in two weeks. Been watching a lot of years. Will never forget the 83 win in Miami, the 05 win at home against Carolina, and now this. Good times.

Would be sweet. I'm not an overly emotional guy (German math teacher, what ya going do?). I "might" have pumped a fist in the air on the final interception. Everyone else in my tv room went nuts. We had people bouncing all over the place, but that's just not me.
I really hope Seattle wins this for the people that have been long term die-hard fans. Like that little gray haired old lady that had been wearing the blue and green wig for forever. I know there are people that live and die with the team. I think it would cool for those 12s that have been waiting a long time for this. I know there are others out there that thought 84 was going to be that year, and then Warner went down. That hurt. Won't ever forget that year. Defense was awesome. Easley will always be my favorite player.
For the old school 12s, let this be the year.

It's funny because in 1984 my two all-time favorite teams participated in the same season, the Detroit Tigers and the Seahawks. I remember in 1983 we had to go shopping for my sister and I couldn't watch the Seahawks and Dolphins game. So I begged my dad to let me stay in the car and listen on the radio, and he obliged. It was the first time I ever had a real rooting interest in a playoff game, it was awesome.
Here is something I posted in the FFA earlier, an original gangsta starter jacket that was my most valuable piece of clothing in high school. :streetcred:
I like the Tigers and Red Wings more, but the Seahawks are really my longest sports love affair. I still miss the GO.....SEAHAWKS Kingdome chant. That was a hell of a homefield also, people forget that.

I lived in Germany for the first one and I was concentrated on trying to get to Detroit and tickets for the game, so I missed a lot of the run-up in the media. Getting to go and experience all the things surrounding the game was awesome though, so if anyone can go to NYC I would highly recommend doing it. I'm within driving distance so I'm going to monitor ticket prices and I have some friends in New Jersey I can stay with who have already invited me, but I'm thinking I'm out this time.
On the last drive, I never flinched. Even when the pass went to the endzone I was fine, it was strange.

We (my wife and I) were at the game. I wish I was in that calm center you were in, but I was clinching my b-hole hoping not to #### myself. I'll be totally honest, I'm still not totally recovered from the game--it was exceptionally taxing.

That is an advantage of watching the game in person. While the energy is unreal, for some reason I don't get near as nervous at the Clink as I do watching it on TV. Not sure why.

As a Denver fan, I've been keeping an eye on this thread.
You know, for all the #####ing and moaning people do in other threads about Seattle fans, I find that the people that post in this thread (for the most part) are good peeps.
I'd like to think that most fans are like this, and if you guys kick our ###, I'll be the first one in here to say "Good game" to you all.
