*** Official 2013 Seattle Seahawks **** (2 Viewers)

You know, for all the #####ing and moaning people do in other threads about Seattle fans, I find that the people that post in this thread (for the most part) are good peeps.
What we lack in volume of obnoxious fans we make for in intensity. I will take this opportunity to apologize ahead of time for our worst elements.

For the most part, I find that homers' threads are filled with the rational, serious guys that know their team.

The ones-that-give-their-fanbase-a-bad-name are usually busier trolling other threads than actually contributing to their own team's. And for them, there's the ignore function. Which I wholeheartedly support using vigorously.

What the forum really needs is better visibility about each poster - for example, I would love to know how many ignore lists someone is on and how many 'liked' posts they have so I can better gauge if their comment is valuable, or just trolling.

I am not going to get involved in the Sherman conversation, and not much in the Den SB thread. I am literally exhausted of arguing with other teams fans, and defending our team.

I will say that due to the Sherman incident and the reputation that we are getting (good or bad) that I am totally anticipating that we max out on nationally televised games next season...which would be awesome.

The Denver thread is actually way better than the last couple have been, except for a couple of pissed off Saints/49ers fans stirring up grief. I wasn't going to be involved past a day or two, and have been pleasantly surprised.

and packer fans....they are still mad about two years ago.

Interesting. Having grown up thinking Easley was the pinnacle of Seattle safeties it's interesting to hear Lott's point of view. Obviously I also have a ton of respect for Lott so it's cool to hear him talk on about Kenny. Now if someone not named Lott brought up the comparison I would have immediately scoffed at it.

Right now, I'm looking up old footage and new footage of Kam. Even if it isn't a perfect comparison it's pretty cool that the discussion is there...

Pretty much my thought as well. AS good as Kam is, he's not even the best safety on his own team. Easley may have been one of the tow or three best safeties to ever play, but Ronnie Lott knows a lot more than I do about it.

Russell Wilson not only went to the super bowl last year, he got there 5 hours early so he could scout the day in preparation for this year.

Uh, wow.

Love it. Excited for media day tomorrow.
Take me off ignore for the Super Bowl?

I don't have you on ignore. I don't ignore anyone even if I don't agree with them. I think I usually agree with you.

I just think that Denver is gonna have a tough time preparing for the Seattle speed on defense, they haven't seen anything close all year. All those passes he throws into the tightest window of anyone, are going to be contested against Seattle. Denver better keep everything between the tackles, because I don't think they can block the Hawks on the edges. Two talking heads have said the biggest mismatch in the game is the Denver offensive line vs the Seattle front seven, and Seattle's secondary is the difference.

Earl Thomas will have to be huge, he's going to have to read Manning and put him in a spot where Manning is questioning if he can get the ball to a location. The D-line is going to have to push, and I don't think they need one sack. What they need to do is push that line into Manning, making him have to move. If the Seahawks can shut down the run, I think they are going to win this game. Some media types seem to think Denver can dink and dunk the Seahawks to death, I just don't see it with the speed. I think Denver has to run to win.

On offense you ball control but look for the big hitter with Harvin as a decoy, or as part of the gameplan in a way to get Baldwin, Tate and Kearse free. Lynch is gonna get his, but they need to pressure the edges and make plays in the passing game. No turnovers, hit some stuff down the field and run Lynch. They can't get down 10 or more though, this is key. This team plays well ahead and the defense can take chances in space if they are up.

Manning ties it up with a TD pass with 2:36 left, Seattle methodically drives down the field and Hauschka hits a 39 yarder as time expires. 23-20

I'm a Pats fan first, but one of my best friends has been a 'Hawks fan forever. I have a Largent jersey in my closet because he was Jim Zorn whenever we played touch football as kids.

Congrats! :banned: Seattle is one of my favorite cities to visit.

:goodposting:

This was it. I didn't expect a Seahawks blowout but I did tell my buddies in November this team was destined to win the Super Bowl. I'm not an over-the-top confident fan, but this team just had a qualilty that is rare. All the home field :hophead: stuff was nonsense, and the smart guy knew this. Hawks were 6-2 away from home and the two road losses were both games they could have won. They could have gone 15-1, hte second best team in the NFL was the 49ers which I also said in November. Denver was a good team, but the NFC had the best teams this year and that was very apparent tonight.
