Ed Marynowitz?

Chip Kellys search for a a new personnel executive is underway.

Ed Marynowitz has emerged as a serious candidate, according to Pro Football Talk. Marynowitz is currently the Eagles assistant director of player personnel.

Prior to joining the Eagles in 2012, he worked as the director of player personnel for the University of Alabama, playing a key role in the program's recruiting efforts. He was a scouting assistant for the Dolphins before that, working alongside Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland.

The Media, Pa. native played quarterback for LaSalle University.

Marynowitz is considered one of the up-and-comers in the organization.

"Chip will not be doing this himself, obviously," said Jeffrey Lurie, upon handing full personnel authority over to Kelly. "He has been charged with recruiting and hiring a new personnel executive that will report directly to him and together we will move forward with this new, highly-integrated approach."

1. Casey - $4M saved if cut, $0 in dead money

2. Cole - $8.4M saved if cut, $3.2M in dead money (Cole already talking about restructuring, wants to stay)

3. McCoy - $7.5M saved if cut, $4.4M in dead money (Restructuring? Was mentioned, and he played coy)

4. Carey Williams - $6.5M saved if cut, $1.66M in dead money

5. Celek - $4.8M saved if cut, $0 in dead money

Chip targeted Casey, loves Celek...hard to read if his 'personnel decision making power' allows Roseman to do anything, or if the team feels it wise. Celek is an excellent blocker and had a good 2014. IMO Casey contributed little to nothing for his $4M and that money can be used elsewhere. Cole and McCoy restructure freeing up more. I'd like to see Williams cut or dealt as well.

Be interesting to see the 'new look' front office navigate this offseason.

Just by messing with salary cap calculator I found 20mil by cutting Carry Williams, James Casey and Trent Cole. Trent Cole cut on June 1st. That will be roughly 40mil to start with. http://overthecap.com/calculator/philadelphia-eagles/

Yeah, but that is without Maclin signed. Even if they don't get Maclin back, they'll need to get some WR. Also doesn't include Graham, Sanchez, Polk or Thornton who I expect will all be back on varying degrees of new deals. I suppose they could get rid of Sanchez but you'd be hard pressed to find a better backup in the league.

Other money is available with restructuring Cole's contract, maybe McCoy, getting rid of Casey. Maybe they ask Demeco to restructure (kinda raw deal to cut him but he'd have no dead money against the cap). Could cut Cary for some dead money against the cap if they can really revamp their secondary.

But I also don't see them blowing all their cap space since it carries over and it isn't like this team was one big signing away from winning it all (not to mention they have guys like Cox, Foles, Kendricks coming up in 2016).

And there it is, rollover money. So, the Eagles have $19.7M or so, assuming the cap goes to $140. As mentioned may go higher based on revenue (NFLPA taking this position)

They have to cut Casey and get $4M with no dead money. Up to $24M.

Cole restructures for sure (mentioned openly he wants to) and that $8.5M of his may be quite lower. Up to $28-$30M

McCoy needs to restructure as well. Could be $32-33 over although this assumes a lot.

Cary Williams gone IMO. (#culture, right Chip?) Frees $6.5M and the team is about ~$40M under.

Need to resign Maclin IMO (wants to stay), and like to lock down Graham as well if he is willing (wants to play on another scheme IMO). Sanchez again if affordable (see what options he has and if another team throws him a bone).

This is where Howie needs to work, kind of a crossroads roster wise. Have some holes to fill.
