Strengths
Nice size and strength for a cornerback (22 bench-press reps at the combine). Excellent speed. Good fluidity and movement skills. Alert in zones. Flashes some playmaking ability. Versatile -- lined up as a corner, safety and nickel defender and played on all special teams.
Weaknesses
Thin-framed, small-boned and short-armed with minimal muscular development. Lacks ideal size and strength for a safety and quickness and burst for a corner. Average press strength to re-route receivers. Allows separation at break points -- late to transition out of his pedal. Too grabby. Selective hitter -- shows up in spurts. Not a physical tackler. Tends to propel his shoulder into ball carriers and needs to do a better job securing tackles.

5/5/14: Watkins recorded 54 tackles with seven passes broken up in 2013. The senior had some miscues against Miami, but generally played well. He would have been starting for most teams in the country and did well filling in while Marcus Roberson was injured. Watkins is a sleeper prospect who has a good athletic skill set - it runs in his family - and could be a mid-round steal. He showed that at the Senior Bowl when he had a very strong week playing man-to-man in the one-on-ones.
At the Combine, Watkins was impressive as he put up a solid total on the bench press (22 reps) and ran a fast time in the 40. Unlike his Gator cornerback teammates, Watkins' stock has been on the rise leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft.
9/10/13: Watkins is the Gators' nickel back but would be a starter on most teams. As a junior Watkins totaled 39 tackles with eight passes broken up, three interceptions. In 2011 he had 34 tackles and five passes broken up as a backup. Watkins also is a good special teams player. Watkins has some size, speed and athletic ability but needs to be more consistent in his coverage. He would probably best as a nickel corner that is a valuable contributor on fourth down in the NFL. McGill is slipping. Wonder why... Watkins and Broussard ranked well beneath him by most... like the strength and speed of Watkins though!

Very cool. No issues whatsoever with the pick, was wanting DB or OLine. I liked McGill, bc of his size... but if versatility os valued and they like him then welcome to the NFC East champs, Mr. Watkins.

@Jeff_McLane: Watkins on visit with #Eagles watched film and was able to recognize mistakes and was able to check defenses into right coverages.

Kinda. 6'0" 190. Not small. Just like McGill at 6'3" 210 a lot. But as stated, Watkins more versatile for sure.

So McCoy, Sproles, Polk at RB. Kind of thought Brown was odd man out when we signed Sproles.
Shefter mentioned Spiller and FJax on last year of deals, so maybe he gets a shot there. Talented guy.

Recorded the worst 3-cone time (7.29 seconds) among cornerbacks at the combine. Will be a 25-year-old rookie. Still has some junior-college work habits and needs to learn what it means to be a pro.

Downside, sure, but I think Oakland got a good player and a great value here:
Keith McGill, CB, Utah
Height: 6-3. Weight: 211.
40 Time: 4.51.
Projected Round (2014): 2-3.
5/5/14: McGill used the Senior Bowl to show that he has the movement skills to remain at cornerback. During the practices, McGill really performed well in the receiving one-on-ones as he was able to maintain coverage with receivers in and out of their breaks. McGill demonstrated the hip flexibility to turn to run with receivers downfield.
McGill continued that impressive display at the Combine. He ran well and showed loose hips in the field work. In 2013, McGill notched 37 tackles with 12 passes broken up and an interception. He missed the 2012 season with a shoulder injury. McGill started out in the junior college ranks and will enter the NFL as a 25 year-old rookie. His stock has climbed in the lead up to the 2014 NFL Draft, and he looks likely to go in the second round.
Obviously not the second rounder! Happy the more I read about Watkins and the age, athleticism is great too. Just can't teach size... but you can teach footwork.

Im not saying its a blah draft, but its definately not an exciting draft for the Eagles. Not one of this picks stand out, except maybe Matthews.
My hope is that Chip is really trying to build the depth of the team. To make all facets of the team better and not focus on one area. Im bullish, but will reserve my judgement until we see how these players pan out.
That said, looking back on the 2013 draft we did well. Not saying we nailed it, but Chips first draft wasnt Reidesque.

I'm not sure anyone outside the war room understands this trade correctly. It seems that there were conditions attached to the compensation for Stevie Johnson, then further conditions added when the pick was flipped to the Eagles.
