How are y'all feeling about the defense this week against Cam/Panthers? It's a shame Ryan's is IR'd. Can the pressure get to Cam before he can deliver the ball to Olson & Benjamin? I don't see the backend being able to handle Benjamin especially

Ya I think they are going to be as focused as they were for the last giants home game. The D may be shaky, but I think we put up a ton of points to prove a point. 34-24 Eagles.

Taking my 8 year old to his first Eagles regular season game and therefore his first MNF game tonight (he's only been to a preseason game). My wife is not looking forward to the new words he'll be adding to his vocabulary but I think he'll love the game. Wish us luck...

Wow sounds awesome. He'll remember this game forever so I hope it is memorable and we get a W!

Took my daughter to the Pittsburgh preseason game (her first game). The whole ride home she was singing the Eagles fight song. Gotta start 'em young.

Wow what a game. Our homefield turnaround is insane.

We lost 10 straight games at home until November 17th last year. Since then, we've won 9 Straight home games. That's just insane.

Awesome game. Defense was ferocious.

One thing that was a bit disturbing was the lack of a run game but hardly mattered for the result.

Home field will be important IMO. Two close losses this season came on the road, w/long travel west, against playoff caliber teams. While PHI had a chance to both with a chance to win these games from the 1...be nice to have big games in the Linc.

Last loss at home to the NYG where Foles concussed v DAL the week before, Vick knocked out in 1st with hammy... and we played Barkley.

How about the Sproles pickup and the turnovers our D is causing. 9 DST/ST return TDs so far this season!! Opportunistic in all phases of the game.

Carolina gameplan: Stop the run, make Sanchez beat them

Result: Sanchez beat them
Yep I don't think GB will have that same strategy and they haven't had the best Run D. We need to keep Rodgers off the field so I suspect a lot of running next week.

An uptempo game with Rodgers vs Sancheekz doesn't seem like a good idea at all.. Rodgers is on a historic pace like Foles was last year.

Great game, especially the play from the D & special teams. We're getting much betting in the redzone too which is a relief.

One question though, what's going on with Ertz?

I'm hoping we can run all over them but they may have improved. GB did a good job of holding down Forte. Clay Matthews was play ILB which might've been part of that.

I don't think we lose this week. I know its a tremendous task but this is not impossible. We should have beat SF and AZ in their house if not for a few plays. GB while formidable has shown weakness this year from blitzing defenses. New Orleans and Detroit got them albeit on the road. GBs oline is still not the greatest. If you can get pressure on Rodgers and limit our own mistakes, anything is possible.

I say 27-20 Eagles.

I also took him (and my 6 year old) to the 4th preseason game and they were so excited to go I felt bad when we got there and the stadium was half full and none of their favorite players were playing. I felt like I had to make it up to him and take him to a real game, and they don't get much better than that one. :)

I thought Sanchez did really well last night. It was nice to see a QB move in the pocket, get outside when the pocket collapsed and make a throw down field. Don't get wrong I like Foles quite a bit, but I did expect to see some improvement on his fundamentals leading into this season which is why I said what said. I know Sanchez threw one up and almost got picked off but you would think Macklin would make a play on the ball or break it up. Macklin has even left Foles out to dry on plays like that. At some point you gotta be a man and go get the ball. The defensive back dang sure did.

Sanchez seemed to run the offense with even more tempo than Foles. To a point where even receivers are not expecting the ball. Could be a timing issue but IMO in this offense you really want a QB to make quick decisions and Sanchez seemed ready for the task. Overall I give Sanchez a B grade. There is plenty of work to improve and I'm excited to see what Sanchez does with this opportunity.

McCoy looks slow. Perhaps he is still not 100%. Not sure what else to say but both Sproles and Polk looked better in the backfield.

Green Bay will be a huge test to see if we are ready for teams like Denver or the Patriots. Like Insein said earlier I believe the key will be getting pressure on Rogers. If Rogers has all day it will be a very long day for us.

One thing Chip emphasizes is taking what is given to him. My guess is that Carolina keyed on stopping the run and making Sanchez beat them with his arm-which seems like a sound defensive gameplan. They probably also shifted more coverage to Maclin, as he has been lights out recently. This game is great because I'm sure GB looking at tape of recent games already were thinking of focusing on Shady and Maclin. However, the emergence of Matthews as a legit weapon and even Celek to a lesser extent is going to make it extremely difficult to focus on those other guys solely. I'm really excited for this game and think that if the defense can cause the kind of chaos they were yesterday, we have a very real chance against the Pack.

FWIW, IF we were to walk away from Lambeau 8-2, I think the talk would start to truly ramp up about us being SB contenders.

It's basic Chip philosophy. They're an equal opportunity offense.

Absolutely, and deservedly so.

If you win in Green Bay in November, yea that gets you in the conversation for Super Bowl.

Post game presser, Chip stated that CAR played almost exclusively man to man defense, especially early on, and they felt that the mismatches were the 'inside receivers,' slot and TE. So, they took what the matchup dictated and Matthews, Celek had big nights.

I'm stealing this question from CSN. Rank these Eagles punt returners: B. Mitch, Sproles, Desean, Westbrook.
BMitch, Sproles, Desean, Bwest for overall careers. Consistency vs occasional explosions. BMitch is the all time return yardage leader and 3rd in return tds. Sproles is currently 8th in yards. Desean has memorable tds but not a very good average. Westbrook was good all around but only 2 career TDs.

Generally speaking, a pretty good run at PR recently for this team - certainly a far cry from Gizmo Williams

FWIW Westbrook got the PR slot on the 75th anniversary team, but that was before DeSean and Sproles.

I remember Wally Henry, he went to the Pro Bowl a few times.

Has any team in the NFL ever gone on a 9 game losing streak at home, immediately followed by a 9 game winning streak at home?

Going to be very tough against Rodgers and the Pack this weekend. They're playing nearly flawless on offense. Have three legit passing threats in Jordy, Cobb, and Davante Adams. A dangerous RB in Lacy. Only chance they have is getting pressure on Rodgers consistently, even then he is quite good at escaping. When the Pack are on a role they're hard to stop but the front 7 for the Eagles are on a roll too. Barwin, Cole, Graham, Curry all have the speed to get to him quick. Going to be fun to watch.

Yes they are on a roll and playing very well, but they are a 6-3 team with wins over the Jets, the Bears (x2), Minnesota, Miami, and the Panthers. That's 1 team with a winning record. And lost to the Saints. It's going to be a tough game but I don't fear the Packers any more than I did going to Arizona. Eagles can certainly win this game.

Who gives a sh it?

At this moment Green Bay is all I care about?
Calm down there. It's a relevant and important stat that likely never has been and never will be replicated in the NFL again. 0-10 right into 9-0 is something that should be being brought up more.

To be fair, we only have 1 win vs a team with a winning record too.

If he doesn't dedicate all his time and stay focused on the upcoming opponent then how else is he supposed to come up with things to yell at the television about this weekend?

Oh I know. But should GB win it'll be there best win of the year. Not like they've been beating up on high quality teams. And it took a last-minute TD for them to beat the Dolphins (their only +.500 win).

I expect a 34-31 game - flip a coin as to which team wins.

I've been living in Philly for 8 years now and in my opinion this team has the best overall makeup of a superbowl team in that span. However, I almost feel dirty saying the words "superbowl" and "Mark Sanchez" in the same breath. It's so amazing how effective Chip Kelly's system is.

34-31 sounds about right. I think the Eagles are going to lose but only because the game is in GB. I actually think they're a better overall team than GB and would probably beat them if they meet in the playoffs.

Well then we better win so that meeting is in Philly.

I see a 30-27 game here. Unfortunately I'd have to say GB pulls it out if I had to guess, but we've got a good chance. Time for little brother to beat big brother.

I think our defense has been playing at a high enough level to keep us in it. Gotta capitalize on every TO and redzone opportunity. I say birds win 38-34.
