Played more Ecuador to win at ht. Tore up field has me mildly concerned, but Honduras does not have the class of Ecuador. The chances they've produced have mostly been against the run of play and with long passes, bad touches. Ecuador should control pace again, and second half. Honduras will slow down. Plus, I don't think Honduras will end the match with 11 on the pitch.

Betting on class this world cup has proven costly thus far.

They kept focusing on the contact in the air, but it seemed like his head may have snapped back and hit the ground when he landed. So he either totally faked it or is playing with a concussion.

They would need to match points, and goals. If Switzerland were to win 6-1, the Swiss would go on to the next round even if Ecuador beat France 3-0.

Then when he decided to call the foul, a defensive player will usually encroach - the kicking team can wait to get their 10 yards, or they can take a quick kick - which is what Pirlo did here.

Ironically, a very similar situation happened later in the game, but Pirlo took the free kick into the player who was encroaching, and the player was given a yellow card, for interfering with the free kick.

Thanks. I don't have it recorded anymore, but as I recall the defending team kicked them the ball for the restart which occurred immediately. It appeared to me that ref may have instructed them to do that much like they do after an injury stoppage. I was wondering if I had missed some type of double foul.

I read an article on a guy Manchester City employs who does studies on this sort of thing. Significantly higher percentage of goals on "in-swinging" corner kicks than out.

Of course, every time I watch them and they take an out-swinger I think "typical city"
