***Official 2014 World Cup Thread*** (4 Viewers)

From the info posted earlier, position G4 has the longest travel distance of all 32 teams (3482 miles) and is tied with d4 for highest average temperature at 86. I think it's the worst possible position to draw from a travel and climate perspective.

I actually like that we're in a group that has to travel. That's not as big an issue for the USA I think as it will be for the Euro teams.

Combined ranking of 48 for our group :scared:

France goes from being certain to Pot 2 and Uruguay to getting a cake-walk.

Honestly, it could have been worse.

A) We get a shot at redemption against Ghana

B) I think we stack up well against Portugal

C) Jurgen + all the other Germans give us some insight into them. Other top seeds would be worse.

Odds of advancing got smaller, but if things come together, it's still possible.

In retrospect, England probably likes their draw.

Especially if they advance and get a weaker round of 16 team

I typically set my expectations low and just want to see the US have a chance to advance before the 3rd game starts in the group stage.

Portugal is going to reminded time and again of 2002 so I can't see them overlooking the US.

We can do it
Need 3pts from Ghana. Portugal will take us lightly. A result there is possible. Germany will smoke their first two opponents and roll out their B side. We crushed their B side (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Result will come there too.

We got this.

And it will be half a home game with lots of Brazilian support

That went about as worse as it could. Hopefully we can beat Ghana, so means the Portugal game is going to be huge.

Portugal is lacking talent compared to 2002 IMO. Sure they have one of the two best players in the world playing for them, but we know that those players can disappear in World Cup matches.

I though Australia was ranked like 59th. How does Group B rank so low with them in the draw?
