Good times!
there is a rule for it, something like 60 or 90 minutes after the gameSo when would this whole drawing of lots thing happen, if necessary? And would it be televised?

I love the group stage.
Knowing FIFA, it surely involved bikini girls picking a ball from a bowl. How is it done? Is it really just a coin flip?there is a rule for it, something like 60 or 90 minutes after the gameSo when would this whole drawing of lots thing happen, if necessary? And would it be televised?
I thought this was the case, and this chart shows it is true......head to head result is not even considered in the tie breakers.Christo said:![]()

You say that like it's a bad thing. This is the land of the BumBum queen afterall.Knowing FIFA, it surely involved bikini girls picking a ball from a bowl. How is it done? H2H would be the tie breaker if Ghana wins and USA loses with the exact same scores.I thought this was the case, and this chart shows it is true......head to head result is not even considered in the tie breakers.Christo said:![]()
I love the group stage.
It also doesn't have a line for Ghana winning 4-2, which would put us out if we don't tie or win.
Head to head is the third tiebreaker, after goals differential and goals scored. All those random blue spots in the top half show the US winning on the H2H tiebreaker over Ghana.I thought this was the case, and this chart shows it is true......head to head result is not even considered in the tie breakers.
you're expecting someone to watch that over Uruguay-Italy?Not able to watch from work, Lallana and Shaw updates would be hugely appreciated from those who can. TIA.

Ref blew the whistle to start the game?looks like Balotelli has found his excuse to go crazy
I seriously don't know if I can watch this much longer. My goodness, this game is the antithesis of Germany-Ghana....just a bunch of flopping and diving with every contact.
I agree with him. I think it's similar to how Americans root for the Olympics. The SBJ guy was on satellite a minute ago.
He says that MLS only got a 2% bump in viewers after the '10 Cup.
Based on that, doesn't think MLS gets much from this one either....despite the huge numbers.
Says it's clear become a big EVENT, but it's not a reflection of the sport in this country.
Thoughts?
There's a diversity of opinion over whether growing the sport need be synonous with growing MLS.The SBJ guy was on satellite a minute ago.

MLS teams circa 2010 had far fewer World Cup players on them. The SBJ guy was on satellite a minute ago.

Yeah... MLS is doing *ok*. And I don't really see people jumping into MLS with both feet because of the WC.There's a diversity of opinion over whether growing the sport need be synonous with growing MLS.The SBJ guy was on satellite a minute ago.

With that said MLS is as healthy now as it has ever been.
sneaky ways of working that into conversation?Sitting with an Azurri fan club at a local bar. Covertly rooting for Uruguay.
Bumpity for todayOkay time for more scenarios.
Group C: Greece's ugliness might be rewarded yet - that 0-0 result wasn't the worst thing for them. Though it naturally was better for Colombia and Cote D'Ivoire. Japan's inability to capitalize on the man-advantage has them just about cooked. Anyway.
Colombia: Has clinched a spot in the knock out round.
Will finish first with:
1) a win or tie vs Japan
or 2) a loss and a loss or tie by Cote D'Ivoire
or 3) a loss and a win by Cote D'Ivoire where the combined margin of the games is 3 or less.
or 4) a loss and a win by Cote D'Ivoire where the combined margin of games is exactly 4 and Cote D'Ivoire fails to outscore Colombia by 3 or more.
Cote D'Ivoire:
Will finish first with:
1) a win and a loss by Colombia where the combined marging of the games is 5 or more.
or 2) a win and a loss by Colombia where the combined margin of the games is exactly 4 and Cote D'Ivoire outscores Colombia by 3 or more.
Will clinch a spot in the knock out round with:
1) a win
or 2) a tie and a Japan loss or tie
or 3) a tie and a Japan win by exactly 1 and Japan fails to outscore Cote D'Ivoire by 3 or more.
Cote D'Ivoire is out with a loss.
Greece
Will clinch a spot in the knock out round with:
1) a win and a Japan loss or tie
or 2) a win and a Japan win and Greece's margin of victory is at least 3 goals more than Japan's margin of victory
or 3) a win and a Japan win and Greece's margin of victory is exactly 2 goals more than Japans' margin of victory and Greece outscores Japan by at least 2 goals
or 4) a win and a Japan win and Greece's margin of victory is exactly 2 goals more than Japan's margin of victory and Greece outscores Japan by exactly 1 goal and Greece wins the ensuing drawing of lots.
Greece is out with a loss or tie
Japan
Will clinch a spot in the knockout round with:
1) a win by 2 or more goals and a Cote D'Ivoire tie
or 2) a win by exactly 1 and a Cote D'Ivoire tie and Japan outscores Cote D'Ivoire by 3 or more
or 3) a win and a Greece win and Greece's margin of victory is not more than 1 greater than Japan's margin of victory
or 4) a win and a Greece win and Greece's margin of victory is exactly 2 greater than Japan's margin of victory and Greece fails to outscore Japan
or 5) a win and a Greece win and Greece's margin of victory is exactly 2 greater than Japan's margin of victoyr and Greece outscores Japan by exactly 1 goal and Japan wins the ensuing drawing of lots.
Japan is out with a loss or tie.

getting more tiresome than the actual embellishment, but carry on if you feel you really need to.Well, never mind...he's fine. Play on.
I tend to agree with this. If it was more convenient to watch and get invested in, I probably would. I'm not sure how I would go about finding a rooting interest in something like EPL... My initial lean would be New England Revolution given my Boston heritage and a lack of any "local" team here in Memphis... but just don't know if I could bring myself to care as much as I do for a US side in WC match.Yeah...

But... I do see people similar to the ones in this thread, looking for other Cups to follow (Euro, Copa America) and checking out an EPL/La Liga or Champions League game or three. And then maybe poking around MLS once they've figured out whether they're more interested or not.
and THERE he is.looks like Balotelli has found his excuse to go crazy
Cut to commercial so no one sees!! oh wait....getting more tiresome than the actual embellishment, but carry on if you feel you really need to.Well, never mind...he's fine. Play on.
MLS has always played the long game. I think Garber & Co. have to be very pleased with the past two weeks.a 2% growth off of one event is really, really huge. I would suggest that guy on the radio doesn't understand data.
