I saw that real time, but thought I was imagining the puckers.

You just won the World Cup, what are you going to do now? "The heck with Disney World, bring me the brunette in the 2nd row!"I like how the players now get to pick hot chicks out of the crowd.
Looks like she's gameOne of them going to get a little grabby with Merkel?
Just pretend it's the NFL, and there's only 11 minutes of action in 3 1/2 hours. Should make it an easy concept to understand. They're just taking rough estimates of stoppage time and things like that. I don't get it.Added time was 2 minutes at the end. At 120:50 Messi is fouled, it takes a full 2 minutes till plays resumes 122:49. How does the clock not go until AT LEAST 124:00? Makes no sense at all.![]()
That crossing pass and goal were things of beauty. For someone who never watched soccer before this WC, I'm officially hooked.
Agreed. I'm sort of new to all of this, and that was an awesome finish. (Edit: I've enjoyed previous World Cups and always told myself that I'd watch more soccer, but it wasn't as easily available as it is now. Got Seattle-Portland set on my DVR).That crossing pass and goal were things of beauty. For someone who never watched soccer before this WC, I'm officially hooked.
Should've gone to the Mash-man or SchweinyBTW - I thought Messi was an odd choice for golden ball winner - no goals in the knockout stage....
I know every sport has their traditions, and I really like the handshake line in hockey at the end of series, but going into the stands to get the championship trophies has to be one of the top sports traditions...
Julio Cesar for not killing one of his teammates.Should've gone to the Mash-man or SchweinyBTW - I thought Messi was an odd choice for golden ball winner - no goals in the knockout stage....
RIDICULOUS choice to give Messi the golden ball.Should've gone to the Mash-man or SchweinyBTW - I thought Messi was an odd choice for golden ball winner - no goals in the knockout stage....

The give the award to an offensive player on a team that scored 2 goals total in the knockout round.
Argentina had TWO shots on goal in the final game, Messi, zero.
If he had been the best player the entire tournament, and had a sub-par knockout round okay. But, fact is, he was probably the 3rd best player in qualifications. No one can deny James was the best.
Messi wasn't even the most deserving player on his ####### team, Mashcerano probably was.
I've stated over and over how Messi has underwhelmed on the biggest stage, and well, here it is again. Yet he gets the golden ball? Horrible.
In my eyes, Neuer, Muller, James all more deserving recipients.
All that being said, the final game was absolutely fantastic, tense, awesome stuff. Even though I said Argie had only 2 shots on goal, that was not to say they didn't have plenty of great opportunities. Game was very, very open and fantastically officiated by the guy I think is the best referee in the world.
I think these were the two best teams of the tournament - Argentinas defenses was beautiful. And they were not the park the bus type of defense either at all. They packed it in sure, but they had guys up top and didn't play 10-11 behind the ball.
DiMaria's absence was huge, no doubt about it. But, Germany was without Khediran and a shocker of a choice by Low with whom they replaced him.
But, can't argue much with Low as the winner was scored and assisted by his two subs.
Really, really fantastic tournament all around, think Macca may have said it best where all the best teams advanced, with no dodgy calls...or at least not that many. Final game was extremely physical too, just a cracker of a game. I was entertained.
Love this tournament only rolls around every 4 years, as there is so much emotion - a guy like Klose was all class and emotional as he knew this was his last one.
I'm not a huge fan of international soccer, but this was a very good tournament. Now we get a month or so of exhibition garbage, before real soccer starts up again.
I feel like at 10:00pm is the unofficial start to the next cycle. Should be fantastic.eta: no need to wait on exhibition games... should be a fantastic one tonight at 10.
Fair enough... like I said, I was pretty short-sighted in my overall assessment.Mascherano's been great all tourney long, but Schweiny came in a bit un-fit and was not really good until the last 3-games. He was the nuts the last game, although the casual fan would hardly have noticed it, but locking down Messi like that was great. He was my man of the match.
absolutelyI wonder what Tevez was up to while all this was happening... they could've used him, IMO... Palacio?
