You're forgetting Oregon State (if they can pull off tonight)Gonna be interesting...but still a lot of football to be played. History tells us that there's a very small chance for 3 BCS schools to go undefeated, let alone 4.

IMO if everyone is undefeated:

1. Bama

3. ND

4. KSU

If you held a gun to my head right now, I'd say it will be Bama/ND in the title game. I just think Oregon will trip up somewhere

Oregon St. and Stanford would be solid wins as well. Its way too early too tell with Oregon b/c their schedule is so back loaded. They've really played no one up until this point.

I was fully expecting for ND to get smacked tonight like they've done in other years when facing the elite of CFB. My new expectation is that they will be upset by one of the average teams they're playing in the next 3 weeks. I'm preparing myself. Its a new era with Kelly but this is what ND does throughout my tenure as a fan.

Yep I realize my mistake with Stanford. I think OSU is a pretender.

They'll get USC with truly elite talent (but no depth) before the bowls too. Sure, they've got flaws, but they seem to be getting better and better.

Rather than play 73 different if scenarios maybe just let the games shake themselves out. Same thing, different year in late October. A lot of football left to be played. I think ND will have their hands full against USC, Oregon/Oregon St both have brutal November schedules, K St doesn't have a gimme left, and Alabama has to go to Death Valley next week. All have earned the right to be in the conversation for the end of the season, but who has the better resume? It's irrelevant. Right now anyway.

I realize that Oregon has played weaker opponents, but to me ND has played a more even schedule. Plenty of decent teams and few horrible teams. But also lacking in top end competition until now. Yet they've struggled in plenty games, whereas Oregon has dominated everyone - even the teams that are somewhat decent.

And you're really naive to discount on field performance and rely so heavily on strength of schedule.Look, we've got multiple weeks left for Oregon, Notre Dame, Kansas State to make their cases...Deciding who deserves to play Alabama (who is no lock either, although I think we all agree they appear to be the best team in college football this year) at this point is an exercise in futility.So much will change before the regular season is over...Why worry about all of this right now?

Forgot StanfordMichigan State is terrible.

Michigan State is a weird team this year. Their defense is top 10 in the country if not top 5. But Leveon Bell is the only player on the offense who has any business playing Division I football.It's impressive that ND scored 20 points on MSU. But holding them to 3 doesn't mean anything.

Notre Dame not only has the strongest schedule in the country, they're also Notre Dame. They have shiny gold helmets and they won a bunch of games in the 30s and 40s. There is ZERO chance they go undefeated and don't get in the title game. There's a better chance the world ends on December 21 and there is no title game.

Having both Oregon St. And SC lose this week are going to hurt Oregon. A lot IMO. When it's all said and done, Oregon may not have even played a top 15 team. Assuming they win out their wins will solidify 3 Ls for each of SC and Stanford. On top of that Oregon St. would now be sure to have 2 Ls. What looked like a back loaded schedule, and it still kind of is I reality, just got much worse in the computers. The computers are already killing Oregon.

I don't see them passing either of ND or KState if they are all undefeated. Nothing could be worse than ND beating SC for Oregon. SC still has the inside track to the PAC12 title game and if they make it they will have 4 Ls in Oregons undefeated sanerio. 5 if you count Oregon beating them in that game as well. Best case would be UCLA running the table from here in out and getting to the PAC12 title game. With games vs both SC and Stanford remaining though, I doubt that will happen.

Horrible spot near the GL in the 4th quarter, by my estimation about 1.5 yds closer than it should have been. Bad call on the Int late. Maybe I'm the only one who thought that was not a catch. The ball hit the ground and then moved though.

My take is that it was clearly a hold. He had his arms wrapped around him. The spot was very favorable. Oh well. I would've been fine if they reversed the int. It definitely moved, but couldn't say definitively if he had control when the ball made contact with the ground and then came loss as he turned. I think its one of those calls that if it was ruled incomplete on the field, it wouldn't have been overturned. I was too busy paying attention to the int so didn't look, but was that pass interference on Fox?

They played really well last night. Very sound and well coached. But they had no pass rush without blitzing, and even then they weren't hitting home consistently. Given that, its hard to make the case they're the clear second best defense in the country.

THought it was absolutely a hold, and at the point of attack. Don't see any reason to complain there. The spot was bad. I thought the int was a catch, just thought there was a PI before the int. On the whole though, I don't think it was necessarily poor officiating. To me the biggest play of the game was the first ND TD, and the refs had nothing to do with OU's defense parting like the Red Sea. Plus, ND dominated the line of scrimmage for the run game on both sides of the ball. The score may have been different, but I still think ND wins that game.

But most of us expect a war on Saturday night. Anything can happen, especially in Death Valley at night. And LSU is still the most physical team we'll play.

Grew up a ND fan and still have nightmares of Boston College. I can't imagine they will be 12-0 and in the discussion. But with that defense and Golson improving, I give them a chance.As far as the big 4 now, it is fun for discussion but way to early. Let Alabama and Oregon be the matchup everybody looks forward to until the chaos begins again.

In the Alabama section....I'm guessing upper corner? I haven't been to BR in 22 years...I barely remember it. We're leaving NOLA at about 11 so looking forward to spending the afternoon walking around some. I went to a night game in the Swamp last year...hard to top the electricity in a big away night game with 90k plus. Am I safe wearing an Alabama hoodie?
