What's lost in all the weekend hoopla is the fact that the B1G looks no better, as a conference than the ACC has the past 7-8 years. Even if the ACC is top heavy, it's still appears to be considerably better than the B1G this year. It was an absolutely brutal weekend for the B1G.
honestly the ACC has positioned itself very well. The first few weeks are mostly OOC games and no one has a better skin that either the Clemson or Miami wins.
The AP poll contains 5 teams with losses right now. 2 were in conference. Two were vs the ACC. 1 was vs Michigan. That speaks to the rather sparse OOC slate overall but it shows that the ACC has done their part already. If any of the top teams in the ACC run the table, those wins, assuming UF or UGA don't collapse, are going to be huge in the SOS equation if a bunch of 1-loss teams are vying for a spot.
