Last year we had six teams that deserved in the playoff, this year we have three.

How bad is Sparty gonna get boatraced?
Yea pretty bad. Not as bad as Iowa would have though.

Shame Stanford is left out.
Probably shouldn't have lost as much as they did.
Yeah they lost to Northwestern. I know Northwestern is ranked and all, but Michigan absolutely destroyed them and I don't think Michigan is that good. Then you lose to a shaky Oregon team at home late in the season, not good.

Welcome to conference politics UNC. This is exactly why conference officials are a ridiculous idea.
Out of all the teams in the conference, UNC has the least merit of complaining. They get every call in basketball ever.Again, it was a bad call, but of all the teams I would feel bad for, UNC is at the bottom of that list.
Not a UNC fan but officials blowing obvious calls repeatedly over the years for the "haves" in conferences is really old. The NCAA needs to employ the officials and hold them accountable for calls like that.
You've got a lot to learn about the ACC. UNC and Duke are the haves with refs.

Why does everyone seem to have Alabama #2? Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, Baylor (without a WR at QB), TCU, and Okie State are all probably better wins than anyone Alabama has beaten.
Bama is easily in the best form of any team in the country. And I say that as a Clemson and Florida alum (and live in freakin' Bama country - it sucks).
What year did you graduate from Clemson?

I'm class of '03.

Mike Greenberg is actually claiming that Sparty should be ranked above Bama.

Sad part about it is that if they're 2 and 3 the ranking doesn't matter since they're playing each other.

And Bama would definitely be favored

In football?

Look the primary complaint is conference refs protecting their golden gooses. Funny calls seem to favor the haves (whether it's traditional or annual).

Having conference officials is silly for even the chance of infra-conference favoritism let alone the inter-conference stuff we've all seen.

One hell of a great time to be a Spartan.

1 game away from playing in the College Football Championship

#1 College Basketball team in the country (come Monday)

So... Guesses on the order?

I feel like it'll be Clemson vs OU and then Bama and MSU. That assures a title game of differing styles which I think the committee would like.

I'm backing off my OU to #4 prediction because everyone is now jumping on it.

I don't think the numbers matter. Clemson and Bama are going to be 1 and 2 in some order with OU and and MSU being the opponents. It just depends if the committee wants OU/Bama in round 1, or do they want to pair two more traditional teams in round 1 and have the other game be a higher scoring affair.

Derrick Henry is now the all-time leading rusher in the history of High School football (career) and the SEC (season).

Whatever you think about his ability and situation, that's incredible.

If it's a coinflip between Sparty and OU I don't see why they would have an OU/Bama first round game, especially since Bama is probably the #2 seed and Dallas is a 3 hour drive from Norman.

WTF are the Cocks doing? Seems like a perfect time to start a new era with a young coordinator type with huge upside. I actually thought Lincoln Riley was gonna get this job, and a good job it is, but instead they hire a guy who somehow ####ed up the Florida job. Four seasons, three of them with five or more losses, and one year they didn't go to a bowl! At ####### Florida!

Seemed to me Muschamp would resurface at Wyoming or Arkansas Tech, not in the SEC. Color me underwhelmed. Richrod I get, I think he's a much better fit but apparently he wants to stay in the much lower pressure environment out in bear down country.

saban is going to run this guy into the ground. he has 339 carries and still has one more game maybe 2. he s going to be done before he gets to the NFL
They said the same about Ray Rice.

You confusing UNC with Duke?
UNC was Duke when Dean Smith was coach. That changed when Coach K started complaining about it loudly. Then Coach K became Dean Smith with the refs but UNC still gets a crapload of favorable treatment from the conference.

Orange - Oklahoma/Clemson

Cotton - Alabama/Mich. St.

Hope that Oklahoma gets the Cotton, a lot of people here are ready to travel down to the game.

It's not ALL about the resume.

That being said, the good thing about a playoff is that controversies like this are irrelevant. We will get our answers on the field.

They'll put MSU 3rd and OU 4th. They want an Alabama/OU final and it moves OU out of the Cotton Bowl so they won't get flack for that too.

It's really hard to believe. I am of the opinion if you can't win at UF you can't win anywhere. Maybe he's selling the I learned a lot and here's what I'll change template? I dunno. Guy knows defense for sure but his offensive shortcomings are so bad it almost doesn't matter.

So does Schiano end up going anywhere? Miami passed on him. Gamecocks passed on him.
He might be done unless he settles for a MAC school. I'm surprised Rutgers didn't even give him the time of day. I thought for sure he was headed back there.

Charlotte Observer expecting greater than $50k of the $70k seats for the game have been sold to Clemson fans.
Yeah...no free tix this year :kicksrock:
[Tobias Funke]

BUT THE ENVIROMENT WILL BE SO DIFFERENT THAN A CLEMSON HOME GAME!!!!

[/Tobias Funke]
I'll be sure to report back.....next door neighbor's wife has the flu  (Sorry Beth)
Wasn't much different....completely dominated by Clemson orange. It was probably 4:1 ratio. Overall a really good atmosphere. Definitely the best ACCCG I've been to (though I can see how one might think that isn't a very high bar). The thing about BOA is the lack of college like tailgating....just can't be done logistically. It was a great time all around minus the refs at the end. There's really nothing one can say about that level of "opps". Terrible.

Sec is kinda down this year. The top of the big10 is strong and sparty beat thdm all. Plus beat oregon and air force out of conference.

Bettter resume imo

Take it to the college bball thread, chief.

Lotta runway left in the season, UH. McCaffrey beaks Sanders' record, he will put himself in position.
and.....broken! Albeit he played in more games, but the record is broken and done so in electrifying fashion. I know Derrick Henry is going to capture a lot of votes but to me, he's just another Trent Richardson clone who benefits from playing with one of the best offensive lines in the country. He's terrific, but he's not special. McCaffrey does everything for Stanford and IMO, should win the Heisman. Hell, he threw a TD pass last night. Impressive.

He looked like the best player to me back then and the media had anointed him at that point (which was what I was saying all along), but I was certainly wrong - Fournette fell off of the map.

Obviously missed out on Herman/Smart who were the main targets. I guess they weren't comfortable with Riley's exp or he turned them down.

Either way, excited to see if he can turn it around here. Going to put together a good staff and recruit well at least....
