Sumlin may also be out, Herman in.
He should be. He's a mess. Not sure why anybody holds him in any regard.
Recruiting?
What does it matter when he goes 8-4 every year.
He coached Manziel and beat Alabama...that's it...a new coach there is a little scary.
Yeah, Manziel's been a stud without Sumlin as a coach. Sumlin's 3 years at A&M are their best three year run since the late 90's, and the schedule is lot more difficult now. A&M doesn't exactly have the history of Michigan or Notre Dame here.
Most A&M fans will say Manziel (and Evans) deserves the credit for that run. Sumlin has a losing record in the SEC without him, after he's benefitted from the recruiting bump.

A&M past doesn't mean much, it's the future expectations that come with the conference move, new stadium, etc. And the future appears to be crumbling.

Sumlin also has a rep of drinking heavily and generally being a dbag.

TAMU would have to pay Sumlin $20 million to leave, no way they do that. TAMU bought into all the NFL/Sumlin hype and Sumlin made sure he'd be taken care of if things went back to the way they always are at TAMU. Of course he knew it was coming, so kudos to him.

I told everyone here TAMU is gonna TAMU, they are a Music City Bowl program and always will be. All this talk about them stealing recruits, being the dominant team in Texas, and becoming the next powerhouse was as I predicted, a pipe dream. Fake Army fans are loud, but that doesn't make them right. Sumlin has done about as good a job as you can do there, no reason to let him go now.

Will Grier leaving Florida. Tons of good QB leaving their current schools this year.
I can't find an explanation for why he is doing this anywhere. He will still have to serve the remaining half a season of his punishment after sitting out a year if he transfers to a FBS school. And the punishment doesn't go away if he goes lower division.

First decent QB for UF since Tebow in 2009. The posters at Gator Country are dismissing it as no big deal because we have Del Rio and Franks, but neither of those guys has shown anything in a Florida uniform. They are supposed to be good, but so were Brantley and Driskel.
Everything I have heard is that this was Florida's decision, not Grier's.

A new stadium is supposed to make you an annual national title contender? Lots of teams changed conferences recently, I'm pretty sure no one is firing Rutgers or Maryland coaches for winning 28 games over a 3-year span.

Serious question, would Sumlin be on the hotseat if they'd gone 9-4 in 2012 (instead of 11-2) and not beaten Bama? I'm pretty sure A&M fans would have been decently pleased with a 3-year stretch of 9-4, 9-4, 8-5 entering Sumlin's tenure. It's almost like his success in his first season is working against him here. A good year and a little bit of hype and all of the sudden everyone expects them to be Alabama.

The messageboard counter is they will use his personal issues against him to get out of the buyout.

FYI, Ohio 29-28 over App State with ~1:50 on the clock. Ohio kicking off, App St w 2 timeouts.

Ohio was up 24-7, App St came back to take a 28-24 lead in the 4th. Ohio forced a safety and their starting QB got hurt on the comeback drive. Backup QB came in and converted a 4th down en route to a FG.

JoeT > where's the WKU Watch Party today? Humperdinks? Time Out Taven? Nodding Donkey? Surprised they are only favored by 3. Should be more like 35.

Cook and Fournette got less first-place votes than the Navy qb. Wow.

I don't know how Cook was so invisible this year. Baffling.
For my money, he's the best RB in the country. For me, the Heisman has been on a downward trend relative to importance. There doesn't seem to be any real criteria around what they are looking for. It's felt more and more like a popularity contest over the years. This year is no different. I think Watson got the shaft personally. The kid is dynamic and so much fun to watch. He makes that team go. I feel like you put any capable running back in that Alabama system and they are going to succeed. That team goes as the defense goes.Had a question posed on local sports radio that got me thinking about this whole thing. If Dabo and Nick were both offered to switch Watson and Henry would they? I feel like Dabo would say hell no and Nick would say hell yes, but who knows.
You're doing what a lot are in looking for a reason Henry isn't deserving, when there isn't one there. The last question is the perfect example. Saban would take Bosa over both. And Joshua Garnett.
You know very well that Henry isn't the best player in the nation, conference, division or even team. He picked up the most carries this year on arguably the best team that was on national tv every week therefore he won.

He is definitely going to be one of those Heisman winners where in 20 years somebody says "he won what??
He carried the team to the CFP while breaking multiple long-standing records for a coach that normally wants to split carries between 5 RBs. Discussing his future is exactly what I'm talking about by looking for something that isn't there.

I noted here early in the season I was skeptical of Henry's chances to be special...watching him every week changed my mind.
Yet they would have been a better team with Cook carrying the ball. The guy who came in 4th or whatever in the voting.

And yes, I realize this is from 8 days ago. I'm Hippling a bit, I guess.

Say what you want, getting a bowl win is a big deal for Akron.

Great job by Bowden to get an awful program going the right direction.

Ely is a sharp dude. Glad to see him succeed at this level, in spite of his underwhelming physical talent.

I'm trying not to think about the OU/Clemson game, I'm not interested in any pre-game. This next week I'm gonna be sick to my stomach just waiting, I'm gonna sleep as long as I can New Year's Eve day just so I don't have to think about it.

BOOMER!
